Re: 2.8 chip
Why would you suggest such a thing?Get the stuff to tune the ecm yourself. The only place those chips belong is in the garbage.

Check the DIY PROM section of the forums.
I went with the hypertech, as I don't have the tuning knowledge required for burning my own. Yeah, DIY is way better, but I don't have the time either. A little over a hundred bucks isn't bad for a few more hp, and is better than the factory tune.

Sorry to break it to you but you got ripped off. Very little is actually changed with those chips. All I've seen is a little extra timing in spots and lowering the power enrichment %TPS qualifier. Definately not worth the money.

If it wasn't worth the money shouldn't you be telling others not to make your mistake rather than trying to justify it?...

Re: 2.8 chip
Wasn't worth the money is debatable. I'm not going to learn how to burn my own, so my only option is to buy plug-n-go. Was it worth the money I paid? Probably not. Is it better than nothing? Probably, so I'm not gonna say don't do it.

Re: 2.8 chip
I guess that makes sense. I hate that so much of the stuff that's out there to buy is crap. I wish there was a company that made a good preformance chip so we who don't have tuning knowlege could achieve something better.

Re: 2.8 chip
There will never be a 'good' chip out there. Just too much variation from motor to motor and driver to driver, even between 2 stock LB8's. Learning to tune isn't a big deal, you just need to get out there and do it. Nothing's quite as satisfying as being able to adjust it the way you want it. Want maximum mileage? More power? Want to keep the torq converter from locking up at 35mph and annoying the crap out of you? Do it.
