GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Just curious if you guys are interested in hybrid specific cams? I have an "insider" at Comp and have access to over 1700 lobes for custom grinds

Also, a friend has been running a modified set of rollers for almost a year now, so along with not only can we get the custom roller grinds, we can make a conversion kit.

Any interest?

-John

Re: GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Do you mean a roller cam in a gen1 block?

You've got my attention, especially concerning anything that will make our little sixes more efficient.

If I had the time and money, I'd be doing the hybrid boogie right now. Still need that front cover and damper, though...

Re: GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Yes, Gen 1 (and 2) roller conversions.

It will be a complete kit with everything you need to install except for cam, and of course pushrods (Gen 3 top ends will need to measure pushrod length on final assembly). Until we can finish up a production version, price is still on the table.

In the future, we would like to offer a complete kit and a variety cams that would include pushrods.

Very interested, as soon as the 355 is in the IROC I'm going back to getting my 3.4/3400 done.

Re: GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Well not that you guys would be interested, but here's a grind I cam up with for a 3.4/3500 in a rock crawler.

I don't like the "stages" tag people put on parts, so this is my "torquer" cam...

$289 for a flat tappet cam with lifters, designed around your engine/application.

No. Sorry, perhaps I should have made two posts.

We am working on a production roller conversion, but also can get custom flat tappet cams.

Re: GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Well, sold several cams for various vehicles and applications

A rock-crawling buggy with a 3.4/3500 11.56:1 hybrid, 3.4/3500 11.56:1 hybrid in a f-body, got some Fiero's and s-10's in the mix.

Hopefully you guys will post videos as well, but here's a member from another board that has my ported heads (someone else's manis) and one of my cams.

He wanted lope, he got it - still not running right until he receives my obd1.5-obd1 swap kit, takes the engine several minutes to "learn" idle lol...

It's my "thumper" cam. Medium performance, maxing the iron head lift with 1.6 rockers, great lope at idle and good tq.

224/230 270/274 .450/.448 (1.5 rocker values) 109 LSA

The cam is off the shelf but a lot of the other components are custom or special in some aspect. Now, if I ever build my turbo motor.... that's another story!

Yeah. Only thing I don't like about open headers on our cars is the rasp, and that actually gets WORSE with the high-flowing aluminum heads

Let's see what can be done about that haha.

Yeah, I've been around for a while, and don't miss much. Me knowz all about your intake manifold Too bad I can't get you to convert to the "darkside" mowahahaha.

Re: GI: Roller cam conversions/hybrid cams

Cam lobes have increased! There are over 4000 total lobes we can choose from

More videos coming soon. Had to build some custom engine harnesses for a few of the cams to even run (3.4 OBD1.5 converted to OBD1 - running 1227727 and 1227730 ECM's).
