3100 V6 Parts

I have a 3100 V6 in a 1996 Grand Am GT, I'm not sure what parts interchange, but if you need any parts, let me know.

The engine either blew a head gasket or has a cracked head/block (coolant in oil)

I've decided that it's not worth fixing, so it's going to the scrapyard in the end.

All parts are best offer, and as is.

Re: 3100 V6 Parts

probably just the lower intake gasket, very common failure on the 3100 and 3400 engines. If it hasn't started knocking just toss on a new gasket set and give it an oil change.

Thanks, but The car isn't worth the trouble, if it was an F-body, maybe, but its a (not so grand) grand am, even if it ran and drove perfect (it didn't) it woulld still only be a $1500 car.

I just figured some of the 6 shooter guys might be able to use some of the parts.

Thanks-

Eric

Re: 3100 V6 Parts

are the 96 FWD heads way better than say '85 model 2.8 heads? I just bought a '85 2.8, it's the fastest 2.8 I've ever driven, but it doesn't haul butt by any means, and if they work, why not!

Re: 3100 V6 Parts

they are much better than the iron heads, you'll have to use the whole 3100 top end though.

there are several threads on building a hybrid that will help you out.

good to know, maybe I'll keep that piece for a little longer. I see a head swap in the near future!
