92 camaro rs v-6 swap to v-8
i have a 92 camaro rs with a 3.1 v-6 multi-port and would like to swap it out for an old school carberated 305 elimenating all the computer crap. would it be an easy swap or would there be alot of stuff to change over? would my transmission and raditor still be good or need new ones? any insight would be great. another question.... my v-6 has only 20lbs of fuel pressure when running would that be my fuel pump or my fuel regulator?i have the chance to by a carburated 305 engine and tranny out of a chevy truck would love to swap but dont know if i will need a new driveshaft, motor mounts or raditor...

Fuel pump is probably weak or the filter is VERY clogged. The FPR could be leaking as well, but I'm guessing the fuel pump.
V8 swap needs engine mounts, transmission, front springs, and tach swap (if you have a tach) or modification.

if you're wanting to swap to a v8 for speed/power...I wouldn't go to a 305. honestly, not just saying that. Your radiator would probably be ok. Other than that, yeah, what he said.

what trans would i need from a v-8 engine so would not have to have another driveshaft? by the way my v-6 is running better, i advanced the time and it seems to run better but stalls at stop signs i will reset the ecm do you know the procedure to do that?

Disconnect the neg batt cable and let sit for a minute. Reconnect.
Start engine (may want to stall, which is why driver input is REQUIRED).
Put trans in Drive and hold brakes (may be able to get away with using park brake if properly adjusted).
Allow to run until radiator fan runs and shuts off, then turn off engine.
Repeat (without disconnecting the battery unless you want to start over).
Restart engine if stall occurs, and put back in gear.
About the only V8 transmissions that will work without swapping driveshafts are the 700R4 and the 4L60 (same thing, except more than likely to be electronically shifted).

Oh, and return the timing to stock... Or you'll have to start over with the idle relearn when you reset the timing after the relearn.
