got her running today, radiator fan trouble.
I got my 8.7 firebird running long enough today for the fan to actually kick on, when it did i had no idea what was wrong at first, the noise was just horrible and loud. After words i gave it power again, cut it off real quick and realized it was the fan motor i assume, when it kicked on.
My question is should i replaced the motor or is there something else possible wrong? I don't want to spend money, replace part and then find out it wasn't even the problem.

I would have to hear the noise, but if the fan blades aren't rubbing and it's not off balance, or bad bearing, then it's most likely the motor, if you put a video up on youtube and link or something that might help us get a better idea of what it might be.

I'll try to go get one now, youtube takes foreverrrr to friggin upload though. Nothing was rubbing the fan blades so the only other thing i guess would be the bearing? is it possible or even worth just replacing a bearing? wouldn't a new motor take care of that or no? I don't know where i'd get just a bearing for it.

you're better off buying a new motor.. they're like 20 dollars... when you take it off ... I believe you go clockwise then counterclockwise....

Actually, i just spun the fan myself by hand before starting it. Made the same noise only not as loud. Would have to be the bearing like you suggested since the motor had no power to it?

Idk the price comparison, but yeah probably better off just getting a new motor, besides if the bearing is bad it probably isn't far behind anyways.

If it makes a loud screeching noise of sorts, yes, it's the motor bearings. Mine does that when it's cold (but not hot YET...
). Another reason why mine's been unplugged for about the last 2 months. It stinks trying to pull codes at night and having to listen to that blasted motor.
