Re: Calling rbob or any other winaldl users

It appears that the only program I've been able to get working is tunerpro rt, took forever and a ton of reading. I'll try to post some data in the next day or so. Has anyone had any luck with other programs on a 730 ECM

WinALDL won't work on the '7730 ECM. It only works on the 160 baud aldl ports. The '7730 being a 8192 baud port.

In the way of free programs there isn't much else. Many folks do like DataMaster, although it isn't free.

after researching all day i noticed that to, tuner pro seems to work pretty decent. have you used datamaster at all?, just wondered if its worth paying for or if tuner pro is good enough.

seeing as there isnt much support for my ecm how hard is it going to be to tune? im in need an egr removal and need to account for my 19 pound injectors

I haven't used datamaster. There is or used to be a hac and an ECU file for the $88 mask on the diy-efi.org site. EGR is easy, just set the enable temperature high.

For the larger injectors there are three values to change. Adjust them for best startup and then for centering the BLM the best it will be. Then tweak the injector small PW compensation table for the lower load BLM centering.

; Idle fueling Injector Flow Rate
$6BA FDB 0608

BPC for N-Alpha fueling during cranking
$71F FDB 12288

; Injector Constant vs. EGR airflow
$754 FCB 182 ; 0

Which, with no EGR only the first table entry is used. Why no EGR? It isn't much of an issue.

Can also lower the fan on/off settings and raise the pesky vehicle velocity limiter

Re: Calling rbob or any other winaldl users

couple reasons for no EGR, the unit itself was messed up a long time ago..and around the same time i came across a set of headers with no egr hookup. so ive just figured id axe it out whenever i started tuning. i dont have emisions where im at so im not to worried about hooking it back up and im tired of getting a false ses light from the egr. if something else was to kick on i may not realize it wasnt the egr doing it.

id like to get everyting running optimal before i start builidng the turbo set up for it.. do you know anyone that has been doing any major tuning on that ecm?

It isn't so much the ECM, which was also used on 5.0l & 5.7l TPI 3rd gens, and a bunch of other GM vehicles. It is the MaskID that defines the code base (really the calibration layout, which then defines the code base).

I am familiar with tuning these engines with that mask.

Re: Calling rbob or any other winaldl users

I've used TP r/t on my 730 $88. if you need files, let me know, I have them and can email them. I think its great (tunerpro, that is). Unfortunately I'm not smart enough to figure all of the tuning stuff out. I've gotten a grasp on some of it. I think part of my learning henderance is that I was trying to learn to tune with a rather big cam in the motor...probably not ideal for learning. Anyway, I'll help where I can.

They must be on my laptop...how big of a hurry are you in?

actually the .ads and .xdf files are on tunerpro.net put your mouse over "downloads" on the right, then go to definitions. scroll down just a little and you'll see $88...to the right it tells you 90-92 f-body v6 and has the files there. you'll need azty.bin also. If you cant come up with it, let me know and I'll get it to you.
