3.1 v6 Problem ??
Okay I brought a 91 firebird and had a bad bearing. Got a motor from a parts car 3.1 (Never Heard it Run) Checked the bearing etc.
Put on New heads
Seals
Gaskets
Freeze plugs
New parts
Started car Found out the new injectors from ebay are crap.
Found Water in the oil (Milk Shake)
Drain it and change oil and filter same thing happened.
Did loose some anti freeze from the raditor
Did a compression test and have above 150 PSI in all cylinders.
I am thinking its and intake gasket leaking since I have good compression.
No water shooting out of cylinders when cranking.
Anything else to check.
This is going to be my daughter car when she leaves for college.

Intake gaskets are cheap enough... Less than $30 for the set. If you're not losing compression and not blowing bubbles in the radiator (a sure sign of a head gasket leak), that would be the next place to look. These V6s are prone to intake gaskets failing. Also, check to make sure that the intake has been torqued properly and nothing's loose.

I jsut repalced it. Unmixed collant on the top when removed. Bolts seemed loose. I am sure that I torqued it. also made sure that I sealed the water jackets. Was suggested. Will see tomorrow

When you're done tightening the intake bolts to spec, you're supposed to go over them again and make sure.

Yes but I don't like RTV as once cured thats its, it can't seal as well or as long as a semi drying gasket goop like ThreeBond 1194 as it will expand and contract with the parts, not just sit there.
But it won't work for the china walls, so your back to RTV for those but they are not mission critical.
