need diagram of 2.8 vacum hoses

I've got the 3.1 in with the maf set up on it.Now there was no motor in this when I started so I never had a chance to see what it looked like before it was taken out.I need the layout for all the vacum lines. There is not one on the radiator assembly.and I tryed to google it up and it for the most part a dead end.Remember I.ve got the maf EGR and intake stuff for a 2.8.TB.Oh yes if it maters it's an 86 firebird. Thanks for any help!

Re: need diagram of 2.8 vacum hoses

What do you already have hooked up?

You should follow the 2.8 diagram for the most part. The 2 lines on the TB need to be switched. The ported vac line is in the middle on the 3.1 TB so you need to put the FPR hose on the port closest to the throttle linkage. The rubber block from the 2.8 TB needs to be retained on the 3.1 TB (yes, it fits). The large vacuum hose coming from the vac canister can be hooked into the line coming off of the small port where the brake booster connects OR where the MAP would hook to the upper plenum. The small hose that connects to the cruise control servo, HVAC controls, and the vacuum tank ball stays on the small port in the vac T where the booster connects.

Re: need diagram of 2.8 vacum hoses

I've got the 2.8 intake and TB so the two lines coming off that are right. My block is a 3.1,My Water pump, alt, smog junk, dist.,stuff like that are things that were left on the 3.1 block. The EGR was chaged from digital to maf. The 7th injector and related sensors.the 2.8 ijectors and fuel rails. the 2.8 oil presure sending unit and related parts. we have deleated the air conditioning pump.installed the shorter belt.Keeped the auto tranny that came with the 3.1.The canister I think has most everything on it.The diagram that xxKing Cottonxx has link to might do the trick. What is ccv(air in)? Thanks for all of your help.I'm hoping to get this running buy christmas. My girl and her husband have no car and she found out she is 5 months pregnant. She lost one baby not long ago.So it would help them out alot.once again thank you.one more thing what is vac sw?

Re: need diagram of 2.8 vacum hoses

All you need to worry about for the CCV (also known as the PCV system, CrankCase Vent) is that the elbow on the pass side has a tube in it going to the intake bellows and that the grommet next to the oil fill plug on the pass side has the PCV valve in it and that connects to the top of the big black idle bypass air tube running from the nipple on the intake to the nipple on the TB. And the vac switch is the thingy on the coil/EGR solenoid bracket that the EGR wiring hooks to that tells the ECM when the EGR solenoid is open and vacuum is passing through. Since you're retaining all of the 2.8 stuff, everything you need is either in the posted diagram or on the underhood sticker if you still have one.

Re: need diagram of 2.8 vacum hoses

Now I got a new question, when you are refuring to the intake manifold, the plenum is not the intake manifold is it?There is a T in the back of the upper plenum. What I would think to be the intake manifold has a nipple in the back not far from the 7th injector stuff.now the pvc has a hose going from it to this nipple in the back.I figure one vacum line gose from the cruise contole canister to one side of the T. Is there supposed to be some kind of reducer in the nipple on the TB going to the other side of the T on the upper plenum.Or should there be a T in the line going from PVC to intake nipple back up to TB? WHEW!
