Well, stock your car was 10.4 seconds. I'm hitting a little under 10 (according to a stopwatch...plenty of room for error) with a chip and K&N's....Thats launching it off idle too. I haven't tried a power-launch yet.

That sounds a bit TOO quick for a V6 with chip and a cold air induction set up. I know it's possible to gain 15-20hp with the cold air(with a K&N) and up to 15hp with the chip!
I know using a stopwatch can be off alittle too! Also, check your tire size! Your Speedometer could be off!
I used a stopwatch and got strange times before too!

I did this a long time ago with a stopwatch and my best time was 4.29 sec but usually is was 4.8's. This was before the car ran 12.42 @111.2 MPH.
Hopefully it will be in the high 3 second range after I get the car back on the road in the next couple of weeks.

I have 225 60 r15 tires all around. and i notice more power once i get into higher rpm's with the MSD box ill go to the trak when my frined is done with his 396 chevelle he chalanged me and i said im game even tho i know ill loose
It's great surprising and beating those Mustangs and anything else that comes along. The big race coming up will be against my 91 GT. It runs high 11's on motor and hopefully high 10's on the juice. The TTA should hang with it even if my son uses the juice. Isn't it nice to have 2 street cars running in the 11's.

braindamage,
Did you get that 0-60 time from a Firebird book?? Hehe...I read that in mine. I think the author made up times for engine/tranny combos he didn't have actual tests for.
The road test I have is of an '87 2.8 RS 5 speed. I would not think the auto is much slower at all. Most tests that I have of both 5 speed and auto GM RWD's, the autos are always within .1-.2 sec to 60. At least, thats for '80s tests.

My son won't let me drive the Mustang because he thinks its too fast for me. He's right, I do not like driving the Mustang, it does not feel safe for me. The TTA goes straight when I race it, the Mustang you have to be prepared to DRIVE it. When it had the C-4 it was great but when the Tremec went in, it is a handfull. The last time I drove it at the track, shifting into second the car jumped toward the wall and I had to let off. I could not drive thru it, no sway bar with M/T's at 15 lbs. not a good feeling. I'm getting too old for it. I prefer straight and fast. My son likes it the other way. He also likes it when the wheels come off the ground. I've done that with the TTA but it still goes straight.
back when I had my 88 2.8 5 spd Firebird, the stopwatch was showin me 9.6-9.8 consistently on a rebuilt engine (bored to 2.9), cold air intake and basically every other part of the driveline new

Just curious, what is the 0-60time and the quarter mile time on a v-6 3.1 92 rs. Bone stock. Anyone know about those times for a 305 tbi rs (91)? basically stock too.

With 400 lbs. in passengers, a 1.5 second tire spin, and 70* weather, I did it in 9.6 seconds. That was before some of my mods, so it might be a little quicker now.
