K&N air filters
Since I'm gonna have the money I'm gonna go get some K&N air filters this friday. For around $70 I better feel at least a little bit of difference. I'm gonna make an interstate trip Friday night and I'll see how it feels, then I'll probably drill the air box over the weekend. If I find the time in the next month or so I think I"m gonna go w/ ram air. Finally getting to do some mods on my car after a year and a half. Starting small, but ya gotta start somewhere! So to anyone w/ K&N's are they worth the money?

Are you sure those K&N's are 70 for two? My drop-in K&N was $25, and my super-large conical K&N was $40.
Hey I just looked it up at Summit Racing for ya- Yup, $25.95 each. Here's the part #:
KNN-33-2008
Chevy: 1985-92 Camaro 2.8L MPI, 5.0L TPI, 5.7L TPI with two air filters, Filterc
$25.95 each
So with Summit's free shipping, and $6.95 handling fee, that gets ya to $58.85.

Well, its already getting cold here in MA, and between that and the fact that my mom gets nasty every time I move her new car ('01 Grand Prix GT) outside to work on the Camaro, I have a feeling the ram air is gonna wait 'til spring for my car (along with the Accel 300+ box)
But I DID notice a small difference when I put the K&Ns in mine back in April. Also Jason, when you change the filters take a (7mm?) socket and remove the baffles inside the airbox...you'll see what I mean when you take the old filters out. Removing the baffles will allow extra airflow for now at least.
Keep in mind that if you drill the boxes, you'll get water in the filters. If you wait and just do the ram air, at least the intakes will protect the filters from water.

I had K&N drop in's and it was okay.. Once I cut open my air box so the filters were exposed directly it was a lot nicer. I loved the fact I could clean them too. Now I have a K&N conical setup and love it. I would get them cause in the long run it is cheaper and you might have a 1HP gain, but in the end it all counts and adds up...

Well I went to Auto Zone today to get the K&Ns. They only had one so I got it and they said they'd have the other Monday so I'll run by and get it b4 my front end allignment monday afternoon. I can't wait to drop them in though. Never gonna have to buy air filters again! And I got out under $60 too! I thought I remembered seeing $32.99 on the screen for K&Ns last year when I got my old filters. Must have looked wrong! Glad I did though. Well I'll let everyone know on monday if I can tell any difference.
