no need to pull the fuse, and it on the pass side fender in the front in a weather pack, 2-3 of them up there, 1 is FP.
Pressure is only held after the regulator, soon as the pump stops, the line bleeds back any pressure though it.
Though its still gonna leak like a sive, be ready to do it fast and have fresh air.
The gas with self siphone out of the tank till empty at a nice steady fast pace.
If you twist a line off cause the nuts are froze, again be ready for it.

does a 85 2.8 have an intank electric pump or a mechanical pump?

If it's fuel injected it has an intank pump.
A lot of times the fuse boxes will get carried over to the next MY, with changes to the electrical system, but no change to the fuse box labeling.

i don't know if you have an intank pump or not . BUT , have you thought about just thought about dis-connecting the battery ? always a good idea for any maint. . safety is often not thought of untill "YOU" get hurt . good luck .
