I have a quick question

How hard is it to change from the dummy lights of the oil temp and volt. to working gauges?

 

Not hard... for the oil gauge, you remove the dummy light "pressure switch" from the motor, and replace it with either the tubing for a mechanical gauge, or the "pressure sender" for an electrical gauge.

For a voltmeter, you just hook it up to the car so it gets voltage only when the car's on.

There's a ton of gauges in Summit Racing's catalog, or you can also search the internet for some of the gauge maker webpages, like AutoMeter/AutoGage, SunPro, VDO, Intellitronix, etc..

If you have a Camaro it is a simple swap to change a dummy light cluster to a gauge cluster.

so the cluster of an Iroc will fit in the V6?
All the wiring is there?

All I have to do is change the senders and make sure the wires are connected?

 

If you are happy with your speedometer and tach(if you have one) and all you want is the oil and volt gauges I have some off an old cluster.

How hard is it to add a tach if you dont have one?

Another thing would adding a digital dash be the same as adding the other?

 

If you want to add a stock tach I assume you will need a cluster that supports one. The cluster I have was a full one but the speedo and tach are gone, I can give you just those gauges if you want or the cluster and you can probably go pull a tach from the junkyard. After market tach are rather easy to install but I don't know if you can get one that fits in the stock location.

As for the digital dash I'm not experienced in that one, but others have them just ask around a bit.

Prob find a tach in a yard somewhere, I was wondering bout the fuel gauge? In the non tach model it is located as big a life in the tach spot and on the dash with tachs it is located on the speedo. If I were to replace the speedo and tach and put in all the gauges would I need to change any wiring over for the Fuel?

 

Or you can buy an aftermarket tach and put it somewhere by the steering wheel!

Sorry guys, I like the "added gauges" look... probably not what you're all after.
