Will these Headers work on a Hybrid?
I want to buy some Pacesetter Shortys from Summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-72C1206/
But I also want to do a 3.4L FWD swap from my 2.8L but don't know if they will fit considering it's a FWD application. It sounds likely, but I don't want to get that far only to find out they don't fit.

Re: Will these Headers work on a Hybrid?
As Pils said, no, they won't work, but they're about the only bolt-on header available. First, the bolt pattern is too narrow, so you'd have to enlarge either or both of the holes on each runner. Second, the ports on the later heads are D shaped, and the round hole in the primary will block part of it, creating a flow problem. Third, even if you got the WOT-Tech tool to make the header primary the right shape and the flange to weld the primaries to, the primaries are too small. The Pacesetters use a 1.5" primary, and the port, at minimum, requires a 1 5/8" primary. The only headers that would bolt on (enlarging the holes, of course) would be RKSport 4th gen headers, and I still have no proof that these would even fit in our engine bays. Not to mention they're about $200 more than the Pacesetters.

No need to make headers from scratch.
Are my posts not being read?
Just modify the flanges and ports when the genIII heads are swapped on.

I've mentioned the modification of headers in just about EVERY hybrid thread.

Six is right, although the 1.5" primaries seem a little too small they will work. Just oval the holes out vertically and bolt them on. The port overlap is extremely small.
These are some longtube headers that i built for a friends 3400 swapped Cavalier, i used flanges for gen 1 heads. You can see that the holes are just ovaled out a little.

FWIW, the 1.5" primaries work pretty well in his application. That car runs mid 13's off the bottle with some mild porting and a healthy cam.
