friends 6cyl leaks oil on plug threads
what does it mean when oil leaks onto the plugs threads. my friend has a 88 camaro 2.8 and i just literally died. we are rebuiliding it, but i wanted to know if the oil on the threads might be the cause.
Are you saying spark plugs?
Leaky valve cover gaskets.

This is not proven, but just my thoughts..
I see oil on the threads of new and old motors alike, with no valve cover leaks.
I think that the oil from the cylinders that comes by the rings (for lubrication purposes) gets forced into the bottom of the plugs.
What isn't burned creeps up the threads just like WD40 would.
Its not a problem.
