Ok, here's some pics. Tell me if my guages as far as heat look normal to you. Just kinda wondering if I'm overcooling or anything, because I know a lot of people run at 220 or so.

So lemme know if my guages look ok. Sorry about the pics, they're from my video camera.

man...115 is better...been there done that. Btw..when going that fast, combined with the outside temp with wind chill factor onto your radiator and also being sucked in....thats normal with the thermo u have...mine ran like that usually normally....

I was filming, and I've hit 115 too, but I was a little to scared to do that, I was going to, but a car came over the hill, and I didn't want a ticket last night, so.....

I run at that temperature ALL the time, even around town.

Nope, 118, that's why at top speed we can beat 4th gen autos, they hit their governor at 115. It was way too fast, and not *really* a kill, so I never talk about it, but you should have seen the look on this guy's face in a white 99 T/A on the expressway a year ago. Old black plane-jane bird slowly creeping past him no matter how hard he put the pedal down. That was fun.

Yanno, it suddenly dawns on me I might have a performance chip I don't know about.. I wrapped my 85mph speedo all the way back to 20 mph without a hint of a cutoff and I wasn't even floored (not that I was cruising or something.. but I was closer to 3/4 than WOT).

In search of new v8 engine & transmission, now contemplating t5 swap to get me out of this mess.

Techsmurf, that doesnt mean that you have a performance chip. There is some other way that you can change it. Somebody posted it on one of the boards along time ago.

But it does help not to have that cutoff!

BTW: Not all 4th gens have a 118 cutoff. There was a zrated tire option and with that you get no limiter. I've had my 95 Z up to over 140 with no probs whatsoever. Also: I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure T/As come with that option standard now so the guy was probably to lazy to shift gears. Not trying to be rude, just my .02
