What size tire to buy???

I have the stock 15 x 7 tires on my 91 bird and I want to know how wide I can go on the tire size on these rims. I do not want it look bad or like ballons on the rims. I just want more tread on the pavement and the wheel wells filled up a little more.

My car had the 15" and I decided to go with 16" wheels, there were actually an upgrade for my 92 Camaro RS.

My Tire size is: P235\55\16

Bought tires from www.tirerack.com and The RE910 Potenza's Kick some royal butt.

I've got stock 215/65/15 on front and 255/60/15 on the rear. The guy that put my tires on even complimented on how good that looked.

I have P225/60r15's on the front (15x7 rim), and P275/60r15's on the back (15x8 rim). I had to "modify" my rear inner wheel wells with a sledge, though.

I was interested in running the 255 60 or 50 in the back of my bird. These tires will fit with the stock rims on our cars?

You said you have 245 50's on the stock rims. Do they wear evenly or do the middles wear out first? Do you have any pics?

I think they should. I can't say for sure, because I only have 225/60's, but I did see somewhere (It might've even been a Haynes or Chilton's book) that 245's are the largest you can fit all the way around without any rubbing. I know you could probably put bigger on the back, so, I guess they were mainly concerned with the front. But, again, I'm not for sure on this, just sharing what I think I've seen... I do plan on getting 245's though, when these tires die. (Might be soon with that 3.4 going in there... wonder if it'll burn tires like a pro-stocker AND pull like a freight train? !)

My "first" tire on the backs was 245/60r15 on the stock 15x7 rim. I didn't have to modify the wheel well for those.
