They're in my top 3 list. Pulleys, shift kit, poly trans mount. Of course, all of these come after the Golden Rule (all praise TomP ) the FULL AND COMPLETE tune up.

I love my underdrive pulleys. You'll get very nervous about your voltage though, I know I do. I run at like 8 volts at idle, in drive, at a stoplight, at night, with the stereo thumping and the windshield wipers on, foot on the brake pedal. But it never goes lower then that, so don't sweat it. Hypertech, $75, or maybe 3.1 Firebird will seel you his for $45... (J/k, that's a rib at him if he looks in here).

First off have fun finding a belt second of al. Dont use the alternator pully you wont notice a difference i took mine off it killed my batterys and i had no juce goin through my car. The crank pully is easy 4 botls i belive. use wd40 to losoen them and also wedge a wrench inbetween that and the waterpump pully wiht the belt stoll pn so the crank dosent ove its rather soimple. just expect to wait a while to get those bolts off

Ture true...but i'm most likely going to f something up in the process. So I'ma get a friend from work to do it. I work at the chevy lot as an auto detailer (AKA wash all the chevy's there)and he's one of the mechanics there.

Well, GM went from the V-belts ("multibelt"!) to a serpentine belt on the 2.8's in 1987; I'd assume the same for the v8's.

Thats what they all come with the alternator pully and crank pully. I would say dont use the alternator pully save you some trouble down the road and sue the crank the crank makes the difference. I know some come with the Waterpump pully never seen em for a 6tho

I thoght just like you so i went and spent 300 dollars on a 140 amp alternator. Guess what my volts at idle didnt change at all. Reno explained why but i forgot but it wont make a difference. Even when i had it on my 105 amp alternator it woulnt charge at all

An underdrive pulley will definitely free up a good deal of hp but are a few ponies worth worrying when you're out at night chillin with your girl, headlights on, stereo on, maybe ac, in bumper to bumper traffic?????

If you're willing to compromise hot summer night ac, do it its good cheap hp, if not think again cause it really sucks to kill your battery while chillin on a hot summer night.

thats ok REno I'll keep these pullies

Transformedbird, why are you paying someone 50 bucks?!? Its so easy to put on, first you loosen the 4 small bolts on the crank pulley, then you looson the large one.

next you take the alt pulley off.

Do this at an auto parts store because you wll need to fit a belt and it will take several tries.

Its very easy, but I can understand if you dont want to do it, Reno couldnt do it, haha
