Temperature Gauge

I did a 2.8/3.4 conversion on my 89 firebird..and now my temperature gauge with not work..can anyone help...i put in a new coolant sensor.

Car: 1986 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700R4
The coolant temp sensor for the gauge is in the front outer corner of the driver's side head. It's behind the a/c compressor, and near the lip of the valve cover. It's got a green wire going to it... did you forget to hook it up?

no I hooked it up...I did not change it..till I seen that the gauge was not working....and other ideas?

wait...theres 2 different coolant sensors, one on the front of the block next to the thermostat, the other that attaches on the head..which did u replace? They both do totally different things

Is the guage pegged out? If so it's probably the guage.

no the Gauge is not pegged out..........I replaced the one behind the AC unit..in the block...should I replace the other one too?

Hey
try this idea!
Ground out the wiring.
See if the gauge reacts. Like peggin it.
On my 1974, I do not have the oil pressure sensor wiring hooked up to a sensor in the block. Because of that my gauge is pegged (circuit open) all the way past the highest reading (I just double checked).
Maybe somehow the wiring got discombobulated during to engine relocation (the in-n-out action). Trace the wiring!
I forgot, all other gauges work?
