Bad Gas? Fuel Filter? HELP?!?

Weird problem. It's suddenly started cranking quie a it to get start, and hen when it starts, it's REALLY rough, like 200 (yes, two-hundred) RPM, like it wants to die. IF I put the pedal down, it'll sputter up through the RPM's, then down and almost die again, sometimes actually dying. If I take it easythough, once it gets above 1500 or so, it'll be smooth, and once it's been runing for a few minutes, it seems to go away. No error codes, checked it to be sure. Any ideas?

I've been having the same problem, except it won't idle until the temp gauge gets about 1/4 ways to 70(it will hit 1000 then drop and almost catch itself then die). But it runs fine at 1500 for the time it takes to warm up, and idles fine once it warms up a bit, I am thinking mine is due to ripe gas, and a bad case of PLUGS.
But I don't know, but I hope someone has te exact answer.

Mines been having a similar prob...but it will go down to 500 or so RPMs then surge to 25-3K and bounce back and forth while at idle. After a while of driving it goes away...

Mine cranks over kind of hard and then idles all day long at 2000 RPM. How can I fix this? It is a carbed v6 too.

Reno, how's the fuel pressure? Do you have a gauge? Maybe the fuel pump relay isn't kicking in.

I was changing my fuel filter and was trying to depressurize my fuel lines and encountered the same problems you describe. You may want to check the fuel pump/fuel injecter fuse (my car ran without this but it ran like crap) and check the two fuses on the passenger side towards the front of the engine bay.

MY father decided to poke around when I was switching my alternator the other morning, and sparked the battery wire off of some ground. What would that blow? Is it relevent? Thanks for all the advice, guys.

Well, after I remembered my old man sparking it, I was awfully worried about the relay comments and stuff. I went out last night and clicked it to accessory, and I heard the fuel pump fie up to get the pressure going. When it finished, I just tappped it a bit and VROOM to life. Must have just been a bad tank. After it was acting all funny on the last 8th or so, I filled it all the way up with id-grade and some injector cleaner. That seems to have definately done the trick. Thanks for the input.

I have VERY GOOD RESULTS (for close to 20 years) with Liquid Gumout.
I put in the stuff, premimun gas & floor it on the roads. Then maybe with you, do that twice.
Check the vacuum leaks, too.
