Air intakes... interchangeable?..

I didnt really know how to word that 2 well, anyways, i have a 91 3.1 and i have that piece o crap air intake buried in the corner. Can those dual snorkel intakes be swapped into the car?... so that i can set up a ram air? or am i better off doin the ram air with the intake i have now?

i was thinkin bout gettin a cold air intake, but i dot think its worth the money if i can do a cheaper ram air ... right?.. lemme know what u guys have seen or know

thanks

Is the MAF just to fill the gap?? And do you cut out the rectangle holes on that plastic piece in front of the radiator.

yes, i used the MAF to fill the lil' gap. i gutted it first. as for the plastic in front of the radiator...it has to be removed. the 2 filter setup is actually 2 pieces: the Y shaped piece and another piece that sits "in" the bumper.

just run a pipe down the fender wall from the air filter metal holder and , face it forward bolt it to the bottom of the car, and instant ram air, helps, i did it. i used air intake 3" hose.

Seems that maybe i should jus stick with the intake i have and adapt the ram air 2 it?... Unless there is a substantial gain by doing it the other way.. seems it would be since i could route 2 air ducts into instead of just one. this make sense 2 any one?

what about running one 3 inch pipe down into the left side of the wall and another into the right and connecting them into a "Y" thingy and make a really cool dual setup like he wants, the way everyone else is saying to do it

From: First one out of liberty city, burn it to the ground
the y will create turbulence and cancel the effects of a "ram air"

If the yard wants too much for a MAF, you can always use a short length of 3 inch O.D. exhaust tubing.
