i was just wondering what you guys thought...
well i was lookin around the classifieds and i found A LOT of like 95 (must i say it) Ford **** probes, V6, 5 spd. A LOT of them. i was just wondering what your take on it would be. what would be faster/funner to have as a first car, a 92 Camaro RS V6 5 spd or a Ford **** probe V6 5 spd?
i gotta admit, the **** probes look DECENT, not good, but not hidious, and its in my price range. just curious if they are any good cause ive never had the privelage.. i mean its never had the privelage of me driving it

i'll be a decent guy and not flame u for this. i don't think probes are half the car that our f-bodies are, v6 or otherwise. a probe is a front drive econo piece of crap. an f-body is a performance platform, not a econo box. a camaro can be upgraded limitlessly, any engine can be swapped in, it is rear wheel drive, and can be made to handle at over 1G on the skid pad. do that with a probe.

i know, ive loved camaros since i was a kid. but i was reading some **** on probetalk.com (funny how the say camaros cant move.. LOL! ) and some of them with the 2.5L 5 spds with no mods besides intakes kill mustangs..and i believe it with their numbers. they got decent handling too
dont dis me too bad, but with turbo and an intake, take off some weigh inside like you would for the 1/4 times, and the ****s get 13s!!!!!!!!! i dunno, any more opinions? im most likly gonna grab a 'maro, but i dunno..these look kinad interesting..

LOL, the TTA's ran easily ran 12's w/ a lil tuning. Anything can run with a power adder. Dude, I actually like the probes, but they're nothing compared to an F-body. Now I'm not saying that an F-body is faster, I'm just saying, that over time, you can turn your F-body easily into an 11 second or faster car cheaper than you can turn that probe into one. And even if you did it w/ a probe, who'd care? It wouldn't look as nice, and we'd laugh at you the same we do at ricers. Friends don't let friends drive Fords. Nuff said.
BTW, I actually like the Nissan 240SX's better than the Probe's, and I trust Nissan more than Ford. If you want something like a probe, look into the 240's first, the hatchback kind are cool.
My brother had a probe. They suck. It kept stalling and it was an automatic. He took it to like 10-15 auto shops and nobody could figure out what was wrong with it. It is, however, rear wheel drive(not front). I couldn't even to a brake stand in that sh*tbox. Never buy a probe. You'll be sorry if you do. They don't last. I'd rather have a mustang 4 cyl.
But hey that's just my opinion

they are infact fast cars. YOU CAN SWAP A MOTOR IN THEM. There is a few guys here at OU that have swapped a larger 3.0L I think DOHC V6 (European Motor) in theirs and one has a Turbo on it. They both have extensive suspension mods and would kick the crap out of most cars I have been in Including my old 355 TPI Trans Am. You want to know the kicker to all of this. Neith of them are riced out at all. No Stickers on the pain or window. No sill paint scheems, just bad *** compact cars. the turbo pulled a 13.2 1/4 on pump gas in 90* weather in Columbus last August. Thats pretty good if you ask me.
If you want a Probe they are Decent cars, but you Camaro will be worth more in the long run. Especially after you get some money and build a nice V8 and do some other things. People will always want a fast Camaro of any year, but Probes will fade out here in the futuer since they are not making them anymore and are rice cars. Which rice drivers are trendy and don't like old stuff. I mean think about it how many 1980 Accords do you see running around fully resotred and Modified like a 98 Civic?
I raced my friend's 96 GT **** Probe once. He had a V6 and a 5 speed. He smoked me bad, REAL bad. But I would rather have a Camaro than a Ford **** Probe.
P.S. I raced him in the 89, not the 69, heh.

If the probe is front wheel drive, then why did my brother's backend fishtail in the snow? And why did the back tire spin out when flooring it in reverse?

hey bizzy, probes are front wheel drive, always have been, always will be, you are on crack. i'm so sure that probe is front wheel drive you can jack up the front of the car so the rear tires are still on the ground, have your buddy lay under the car, start the motor and put it in gear. if the car is rear wheel drive, your buddy will be killed when the car drives off of the jack stands, if it is front wheel drive, the front wheels will spin in the air. try this at your own risk

Ok look, I talked to my brother yesterday and he confessed that the car NEVER peeled in reverse, drive anything. I could have killed him for making me look like a friggin fool to all of you. I'm sorry. I was wrong. I even looked it up. Obviously you know what I found. It fishtailed in the snow 'cuz my brother sucks at driving. I don't even fishtail in snow, unless I want to. Sorry if I upset any of you over this stupid P O S car. Still I would never buy one or get in one less i had to. I sat in back seat once and my head was against the ceiling the whole time i was back there. My point is and always was: Probes suk.
