I agree. Some *** in an '88 Prelude tried racing my Iroc. That was fun

1988 Iroc-Z L98, MSD 6a, Accel coil, K+N's, Airfoil, Coolant Bypass, Flowmaster, Gears, Late model Bose, I like the 80 better

How about an Intrepid? Or a Camry? I've bought my wife both of those cars in the last two years, and those V6's have eaten more than their share of v6 and 305 powered F-bodies. I can't vouch for the mechanical condition of those cars, but her cars have come within a car length of catching me in my '92 RS L03 numerous times. Those would be some impressive kills in my humble opinion. Or how about a Maxima, or an Alpha Romeo 164? I could go on for days about this. How about a Regal, Park Avenue.....etc.....

These are still ordinary cars, no relation to sports car (with the exception of the maxima
)
If someone were listing a kill about a acura Cl-TypeS then I would say it OK but I still dunno about WHY listing kills in the sig...
If I would list all my kills in my sig that would be ... long!

You include them because "Ricers" modify them. I have seen countless Accords that have stuff done to them and people think thay are fast.
Jetta's can come with a 5-speed and a VR6 engine. Thare are pretty damn fast to and a lot of performance parts like cams and heads are available for them. So then again some people build them up to be fast to.
Anything caan be fast, most buicks have the 3.8 motor in them which allows them to use a lot of performance parts.
I think that anything that someone races you in and you win is a KILL period. More likely than not they have modified their car in someway to make it faster and therefore want to race. If you win its a kill, might not really be something to brag about, but then again some racers will brag about beating anything. Also some races are just funny, like a Fiero trying to race my 86 Trans Am, well I didnt do it because of the area we were in, but anywhere else I would have and included it in my list and had a funny story to tell.

Not to start an argument but I know a few cadilacs, lexus 400 and auroas (sp?) that could out run a lot of people on this board. For that matter a lot of trucks will two. My jeep runs 14.8 in the quarter, not fast but it could beat quite a few people on this board including my firebird (for now)

To throw a damp rag on this idea,
One passenger killed, two drivers charged with vehicle manslaughter for drag racing.
The Honda thing had its top sliced off by the phone pole.
The other Honda thing had it's driver in the back of the patrol car. Other driver at hospital.
Happened out in Calabassas Thursday, during the daytime. Perfect weather conditions.
Drivers were 18, best of friends just graduated high school. Passenger died, after 20 minutes, trying to keep him or her alive.
I "beat" someone on the freeway and all he did was chase after me.
I split and let him go away.
There are SO MANY ******* A$$HOLES OUT THERE.
Let them go away.
Drag race in a safe environment.
It's nothing like the old days of racing on the LA side streets. I used to do that often and it was fun and "safe" (to a point).
I miss that fun.
It's gone for ever. As is my "race car" the 1968 Firebird, 400/TH400 (possible one of 12 RAII combo's made by the factory).
People are to wound up and violent in actions and thoughts.
Let them go away, to harm someone else.
ALL cars are fast, if some sick **** is behind the wheel. Why let them ruin your fun?
Learn to let them go.
I've had to.
I'd rather be around for my Wife and Son.

Running on the street is just downright stupid. Now that I have the Z, it seems like every retard I pull up next to wants to drag. Maybe it's the orange friggen stripes, but whatever the hell it is, the car attracts WAY too much attention from as*holes who wanna weave through traffic to get a shot at me.
Its just nice to know that I can eat 99% of these candy as*es. Now the RS on the other hand....

Even though my car could never beat some of these, I still think that any car that beat one could and SHOULD add them!
Ex: 96 IMPALA(sp) SS
-- Cadillacs
Not only but like our 1990 Buick Lesabre. Now I can beat that, but if they had the same miles and were both stock, that 3.8 would deffinitly beat mine.
I mean if something SHOULD be beating me, and I beat it, then i consider it a kill!

Last summer I raced a VR6 golf with N20 and turbo (I did not knew that at the time:eek
and at the end of the quarter he was still at my rear fender so I agree on the argument that anything can be fast

0-60mph is not a good measurement of which car is faster.
Take for example a 2000 mustang GT vs me. Up to that speed the GT will stay at my door but after that, I'm gone all the way to 7-8 carlength at the end of the quarter

I think you need professional help.
I agree with ked85 drag racing in city streets is stupid.
Here in Vancouver,Canada we have had numerous accicdents where innocent pedestrians have been killed, drivers of other vehicles killed or seriously hurt.etc
If someone wants to race, find a dragstrip or old airport or other area suitable.
Look at it this way how would you feel if someone you loved was killed by someone to selfish and immature to care about others out there.

Good point, about street racing. But when do you draw the line? You're sitting at a stoplight in the middle of the day, no traffic and a ***** pulls up and starts revving his engine, do you (a); don't even look his way (b); Give him a quick run to 40-50 mph just to show him what a doofus he is or (c); race him to 120 mph and beat him by a block or 2.
I think everyone in here (who thought they had a chance) would just take a quick run to 40-50 to show them who the top dog is. Is that street racing? If so, guilty as charged, but I also don't do this sort of thing if the there are pedestrians, kids, or other traffic in my way. Those of who are chastising us about getting in wrecks and killing innocent bystanders participate in the behavior listed above. Guaranteed, I know you do. That I beleive is what most people here are referring to when they list a "kill". Or maybe out on an open interstate. Not trying to start any flames here, because that is some darn good advice. I just want to know where you draw the line.
Now, back to the original post. I killed more than my fair share of "modern muscle cars" including 80's Monte Carlo SS's, and ragged out camaro's with loud exhausts with my 2000 Intrepid. My car had more HP than any stock Maxima, so I think that you can pretty claim any car that legitamately line up to race with you and you beat.
My $.02

Personally, i dont find myself winning too many races, so i dont do it. But it is fun to be side by side at a red light and give the other car the impression that ur gonna race... and then let him take off like a bat outta hell and u jus drive normal.. block later wave when he is handing over the license and registration...
Am i the only one that looks around for cops
Besides i had my car up to 110 or more , tis enuf for me.. no reason to endanger everyone else

Race a *****?
Please
Waste the gas on that?
I once saw this spoilered flared "thing".
Some four door piece of crap that could hardly move all the "modifications" he made on the body.
It was really nice body work effort, for that an "A".
He made me laugh so hard, modifying a stupid japanese four door thing, I gave him an "A+" for making me laugh at him so hard.
I almost hit the guy, I was laughing so hard.
I'll tell ya, from my motorcycle riding/racing days, those jap crap things can be fast.

well have you ever raced a buick regal 3.8 supercharged?...Until you do and you barely beat it out then be quite. It is a HUGE CAR and will haul major a$$. The same goes for a upcoming dodge charger 4 door. The concept made 345(and weighs about the same a F-Body) ponies....thats a family car and if it is produced it will give LS1's a good run for the money and if not BEAT THEM. As for the jetta and accords if they are built and not show they will give any F-Body a good run.
The VR6 that the golfs and other volkswagens have are quick by any means. Beware though there are a few of them that have turbos and will run and hang with F-Bodies easily. Granted they are not "family" cars but they are competition.

BUT I've seen a street race between a LS1 and a GrandPrix supercharged with a 75 shot nitrous and it was pretty even.

I had these 2 real skanky girls in a '91-'92 RS pull up next to me yesterday morning and rev it a bit (had to be a 3.1). I normally make it a rule not to drag on the street, but I figured a little 0-50 in a 45 zone couldn't hurt, right???
