car died! HELP!!!
i put 6 gallons of reg gas in my car today. i got it from the place down the street, where i always get it. i drove for like 10-15 mins after, and when i pulled into my street the damn thing died on me! i pulled to the side of the road and started it up, and it ran rough so i revved it, and it died again. i drove it 50 feet to my house (with almost no power brakes or steering) and checked under the hood. the coil wire was loose so i put it back on and drove it, and it was fine till about 4000 rpm, then it hesitated and dropped to 3000 then up to 4000 a coupla times, and then it just kept jumpin around on the way back. anybody have any ideas?

Vacuum leak.
Start searching.
Sounds like the one by the distributor on the intake manifold.
Why would the coil wire "suddenly" come loose?
Who has been playing around there?

I always just removed the filter... gas would start dripping out, and I'd wait & wait, and just when I got way too nervous, the gas flow would stop.
But now, something's different. Now, the gas flow doesn't stop. I assume it has to do with the Borg-Warner replacement fuel pump I put in. So now I'm like a madman under there... undo the old filter, quick put the new one on- and gas burns skin... ouch.
Make sure when you do the fuel filter to check for the o-rings on the extreme ends of each steel fuel line. Sometimes the o-rings can stick inside the fitting on the fuel filter. If the o-rings aren't on each end of the steel line, you'll get a leak.
Don't smoke, or weld, or throw steel wrenches on the ground (sparks), or work around a hot exhaust, or work inside a garage (gas fumes build up) when you do this!
