V6 headers again...

OK I have done some research and hooker makes headers for the 3.4 ?-81 camaro. These might be worth a look. Carparts.com has them for around $175ish.
Yes I know the engine bays are different but if they stay tight to the motor they SHOULD work.

Are you sure that it isn't 3.8 becausse the late seventies and early eighties second gen used 3.8's not 3.4's. The 60 degree V6 was first used in F bodies in 82.

90* headers won't fit right on a 60* V6.

Have you guys ever considerd a custom set up, Jegs(sorry SOBs) sells universal kits that the tubes just need to be bent to fit and welded. I wonder if you got these and took you car to a GOOD exhaust shop if they could bend everything up and fit it to a custom Y-pipe and on through a full exhaust. Something to look into.

Yep, plus, 3.1 Firebird has already proved that 93-94 3.4l F-body headers will fit the engine bay with some mods.

Are there weld kits out there with head flanges meant for V6 cars? I guess there has to be, eh? A flange could always be cut, too, I guess.

well I am working at NAPA temporaily and I looked through thier parts books and came across this part number #68410 and they were for 3.4 not 3.8....And yes tomP I heard about the 94-up whatever headers that 3.1firebird had moded but he never said what had to be dented and if he had a manual or auto. I have a 5 speed with very little room on the left bank...

Well, regardless of what NAPA says, they are for 3.8s....just a little reminder not to by parts at NAPA

3.1Firebird told us a while ago... I had to dig it up with a search, but here it is: https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/001000.html I just printed it out in case the message board deletes it from age.

Wasn't there another message of 3.1's with pictures in it?

thanks tom P but that still sounds like a sh*t load of trouble. I would rather buy a tubing bender and tubing...and just to let the napa bashing guy know that was an edelbrock number/catalog not napa. But personally I would not buy anything from napa way to overpriced. I got a part from the dealer cheaper than them and I had the "discount"
