Yeah, intake & exhaust won't add a ton of HP, but they should add enough to be felt. Do both and you squeeze a bit more out of the deal, since the engine can move air through itself easier.

not tring to **** you off, or prove you wrong yet again tomp but ..well...I have the same thing on my car and well...no nothing can be felt by it. Maybe 3-4 poines. and 1-2 MPG...and not to mention more intake noise...sounds like a hoover on steroids.

3-4 ponies would not be easily felt by SOTP alone...

Imagine that, not everyone's car is the same. Tom noticed some SOTP difference and you didn't so that means that he is wrong and you have to jump on his back. Quit being a fu(king a$$hole camaro_hunter. You are still pissed about that whole engine/coolant temp thing aren't you, trying to get in one last word. This forum is meant for everyone to share DIFFERENT results and opinions. You aren't god, and your car isn't every man's car so if you have nothing constructive to say, then don't.

I doubt that. When I added the 2 K&N's to the RS and took out the baffles I noticed a difference. I dare say that if you're running an open airbox with a decent air filter, you should get at least 5-7 HP.

Violate 3.8 what the fu(k is your problem. I stated what it did to my car, and seeing that GM made all the engines I would be left to decide that it would yeild the same basic results. It seems that you just made another name their tomp...and not bothering to mention that I stated at first not tring to **** anyone off or step on anyones toes..so go fu(k off yourself a$$wipe

Violate is NOT TomP. And just to have some hard PROOF for you ( I didn't doubt I was right ) I checked their IP's. Just because GM made all engine's doesn't mean that they all react the same. Otherwise, ALL engines would fail at the EXACT same time. Engines break in different, and plus, who's to say that a difference to Tom would really register on your differences book. Tom has earned my respect by posting knowledgable information and admiting when he's wrong. Personally, I didn't notice a difference even when I removed my clogged filter, but then again, it takes a BIG difference for me to even notice one. I don't notice small variations in the engine as well as others. Camaro hunter, just chill out a little bit. This feud between you and Tom needs to be put to rest. No need to bring up the past.

I felt a minimal gain when I gutted my air boxes, but I did *feel* a gain... and even a minimal gain is profitable when it costs nothing to do =)
HiPo filters will open that up a bit more, also.. probably another minimal gain.. probably not worth it for the money.
A decent cold air intake would open it up further yet. Probably a felt gain over the gutted airbox. DIY should cost as much (if not less) than stock-replacement K&Ns.

sorry overclck but I am getting sick of getting bashed for what I say. The originater of this post was wondering what this mod did..I stated what it did to my car. Then Vibrator flamed...
and it seems that I am not the only one that felt little if anything for this mod. And sorry t say that one can change their IP by getting off line then coming back on. A freind of mine Jerry works for Earthlink.

Actually......my IP's always the same, and everyone I know's IP is always the same. Just getting offline and back on does NOT change your IP address. Don't believe me? Explain this one. I reformated my computer completely, took EVERYTHING off, and guess what, my IP, is hmm....still the same as before. And I wasn't flaming you, I agreed that I felt no difference, but then again, i know guys that swear to me up and down about feeling it. It's all how you perceive "a difference".

Just to settle the IP issue. Since this is a Car post and not a comp post, The IP changes if you have a dial up sevice and stays the same if you connect through an "always on" sevice like DSL or Cable , T1 and so on. I read this out of Popular Mechanics.

Checked Tom's just to prove it. His stays the same consistently. And not ALL dial-ups do that. Violate's is a totally different address.

I'm on a cable connection Fu(ky, and I AM NOT TOMP. I'm sure you moderator knows a little more about the IP's than you do camaro_hunter. BTW, I felt a SOTP difference when taking the cover off the air box (just while street racing). It gets much more air at high rpm's and even felt a little stronger on the low end for some reason. I'm sure the 3.8 has a larer gain cause it sucks more air, but I would bet that the 2.8's can also feel it.

I'm sure, too, that the first two octets of the IP address will show the difference in geographical location. I haven't taken any weekend trips to the middle of the country...!

I see youre hiding behind a self invented screen of bullsht camaro huntd. I read what you wrote to Tom P in your first post and you deserve to get flamed for running your mouth. Im sure youve done enough engine swaps to argue with us all and taken the air boxes off enough engines to get an accurate representation of the results .

and NO THIS ISNT TOM OR VIOLATE 3.8!
