My last question before I get a kit like this or buy the block (long or short) is can a 3.1L be bored out to a 3.4L in displacement. Should all be the same block as far as 2.8/3.1/3.4 all being 60* family.

Sounds good.. I would go from 3.8 to 3.1 this time then 100K later take it to 3.4

Those guys.
Ryan,
Plan Plan Plan.
Call the yards see their prices. (I Paid $800, other, way less!)
Call the dealers, BARGIN for their prices.
Those people, you need to assemble an engine.
Ever done that?
Why add to your "fun".
Buy the engine, complete, running (it called a sure thing!), swap the necessary stuff and go have fun.
Why try to build an engine & the machining & the extra time and the extra problems?

IT IS YOUR CALL.
Honest.
I only recommend the sure thing.
I've learned to be lazy and come out ahead.
I have. I got a used LOW MILAGE ENGINE & swapped & started & drove away, right away.
No worry about this and that or measuring or checking or anything. Remember, I didn't play with cylinder heads or exhaust manifolds, I left those on the engine I got from the yard.
It was already done/built for me.

It's your call.

Here's a number too
214-634-3900
In Texas
Autocenter
They sell them (the 3.4's)
Here's another
Scoggin-dickey
800-456-0211
806-798-4108
Both in Texas.
Have fun don't waste the extra effort. Buy the sure thing!
WHEN YA KNOW MORE, then go build an engine.
Not on your only ride.
Go buy an engine on the side (for $25 or for free) tear that one down and learn from that spare engine, WHILE YOU ARE STILL DRIVING YOUR RUNNING 3.4 swap conversion!
Heck, take apart the one you pull from your car!!!
BUT REMEMBER, with these new engines, you will not be getting those 3.4 injectors. That is a MAJOR magic ingredient for this swap!

Well I don't have the 2.8,,, I have the 3.1 because my Camaro is the 1992 model but the reason I ask is I think my block is cracked,,, so I may need a new one and I thought might as well GO ALL OUT...

Hey KED85 what is the compression on a stock 3.4L because these guys have a stroker kit which makes the compression 9.5 to 1 which IS GREAT for more HP when you make more mod.
