91 Octaine???
Ive been goin to gas stations in cali lately and noticeing that insted of 92 octaine they now have 91 Whats up with this and will it mess with my chip since it requires 92?
Lots of chips say they need higher octanes. Our v6's have a lower compression so dont really need it. You'll find lots of guys here with modified v6's running 89 and even 87. Truth is, when I tried out 91 octane once on my car, it felt slower. I personally just stick with 89.

My car loves 93. 89 feels no different than 87 in my car, but for some reason with 93 it feels slightly smoother.

I agree with Jason, 92 makes it seem smoother, but I just save myself the cash and run 87... Once my car gets it act together and starts working right that might change though.
[EDIT] To answer your question... it shouldn't matter... Crazy Cali's... :rolleye:

Well i found out why all the octaine ratings went down in ALL of california. They took out the MTBE in the gas cuz cali says it causes cancer and is bad so i guess by the end ofthis year all of california will have 87 88.5 and 91 octaine. all i gotta say is DAMN COMMIES
