compression ??
someone told me that the most we can get our compression to is 9.6 to 1 because of our cylinder heads........this makes no sense to me
cuz i want higher compression
what would be a safe level of compression for the street say using 93 octane???

Food that makes me sick: RICE
1991 Camaro RS 3.1 V6 5-speed

usually 9.5:1 is the limit for street carbed engines without using racing fuel( or higher octane fuel). However, with computer controled vehicles, it should depend on the computer/igniton control. Also having more compression won't give you a whole lot more hp over lower compression, unless your engine is being purpose built to race.
The preceding is my opinion, ..if wrong my bad, if right, use it

Newer production cars can manage higher compression because the computer can compensate for timing (detenation), and such. The computer basicly has full control over this.
I can't fully explain what I mean, but I know it to be true, I'm sure there are others who can explain it better than I can.

Our car will rev over 5000 rpms, so you really don't need higher compression. A simple port and polish of your heads and intake will sufice.
