Man afew V8 guys can be ******.... My 2 cents is do not put true duels on a V6, you will pay money to become slower... But, that said i hate it when afew holyer then thou jerks come off like they did with the two comments they did. I am now going to go take my 74 maverick grabber and whoop every V8 camaro and firebird i see and ram it down there throats. Stupid sons of (BEEP'es)

make sure to tell them you are runnin' the 3.3l motor before the slaughter, that way the blood runs deeper & darker
I don't know what it is, but almost every other post I have put in a V8 domain, (other that apperance) gets ignored. So I just stick to my buds in the V6 board.

Nope gonna stick with the 302. The plan is to make a 347 on a stand. I built one on the desktop and in a 2750 pound car (2900 stock with fiber hood and fenders, with the smaller bumpers) it was pulling 10.89 on slicks. My only real goal is gonna be 13.1 plus a 100 to 150 shot. That should wipe out 99% of the cars on the raod today. For comparsion a 74 maverick grabber is the same weight as a fiero, but the came stock with upto a V8 in them. The stock HP is 210 with 243lbs torque at the flywheel. Stock they pull 15.7 and for about 500.00 they get into the low 14's. This one comes with front disk brakes, floor shifter (auto), 9" posi rear (that was added) and bucket seats. The options it came with are rare in the grabbers anyways. And stock they wiegh in at 2900lbs even. Add a hood and fenders and they will drop to about 2800, add the early slim bumpers and they goto 2750'ish. To add a 351 the shock towers have to be cut and honestly i am not up for that, plus the gain of hp isn't really worth the work it would take, altho it would be nice. Like i siad, i will be killing every V8 i see and laying refuge to all V6'ers, i will not forget my roots and i sure as heck am not any better like afew sad V8'ers think they are. (rant off) giggle.....

I don't even think true duals are worth it on a v8 car! Unless the guy can do it himself (welding), the fabrication cost doesn't seem worth it. A larger i-pipe (3", 4", whatever) should do fine in place of a true-dual exhaust. Yeah you don't get bragging rights, but think of what the extra money could go towards!

Thanx for the suggestions and comments guys .
I have a dynamax on right now , I got it not to long ago .I could feel and increse in throttle response after I put it on .Im about to put 3.4 headers on and my friend is helping me , and trying to talk me into true duals , but you guys have conveinced me not to , geez glad I didn't waste the money .I wondered why V6ers dont post there exhaust questions in the "Exhaust" section , now I know why lol . Well keep you guys posted , Thanx again ! Wayne

My setup for duals will be perfect. I'm going to use a one chamber dual inlet/outlet cat that will double as a Y pipe, And H pipe, see for yourself.

Firearm , I didn't mean to offend you , or anyone whow does have true duals on a V6 ,Sorry If I did . If I had more money I prabably would do it .Im just going by what people tell me .Goodluck with your set-up man .....Wayne
Good choice
i totally agree the duel exhaust is to much for anything short of a big block making 600+ hp. Spend the money on installing a 3.4L or doing the mods in that write up i did on my old firebird
The only reason i went off in the post is they had a choice to either help or be conceeded lil ******. Unfortunately they showed their true colors. The good news is 99% of the V8 guys are not like that and its the few that think there untouchable, they are the ones that truely hurt the name of the car whether a V6 and V8 or an old iron duke. They are usually also the ones that will get themselves or someone else killed proving just how fast thier car really is. Don't be discouraged with asking questions, just don't buy into the onesidedness of the fool that has to feel better then everyone else - they wouldn't do that unless they know their losers in the first place.

Fiream, i took a look at your setup and it is a great idea, but..... A true duel exhuast setup will rob you of alot of low end torque. That said, IF you live in the 100+ mph range its a good setup and i encourage you to go for it. However if you live in the zero to 70mph range where most street cars are 95% of thier lives then you will be paying money to become slow in the engines usefull rpm range. The only way i see you getting away with this and making it work is to use 1" to 1.25" pipes on each. That would give the same volume as a 2.5" single exhuast, even then tho i do not know if the flow would be the same. Back pressure is what will produce your torque and to open up the exhuast is to get rid of it. Open exhust is great for 60 to 70+ mph where the engine can breath BUT THEN your cam has to be selected right to even do that. I would suggest for you to take a good hard look at proper gears and a stall convertor (if auto), that will drop you times a good 1/2 to 1 full second and for about the same work and price, if you do it yourself. I have been racing and bu building V8 cars for a good 15 years. I can tell you even in V8's that a 2.5" duel exhuast with headers doesn't start making a difference until A: you can fill the volume and B: until 225 to 250hp even on my old 3.1L making 200 to 225 hp a duel exhuast would have choked the engine. Again, its a good idea but practically its a bad investment if you are trying to get fast in the zero to 100mph range. Just my thoughts

Dave,
I understand what you are saying about the loss of torque, but i'm not worried, this is just one of the steps to building my dream engine, after the exhaust i'm getting,a performer intake, maybe a prot and polish job on my heads, maybe even a whole stroker kit to go from 2.8 to 3.4, my goal is to get around 250-300hp. out of the little engine.
