manifolds glowing

Well i took the car out for a ride last night and when i got back i popped the hood. the manifolds on both sides were glowing. Does anyone know why they would do this?? This is a rebuilt engine and im not sure what the problem is. thanks.

Only time i have ever seen headers or exhust manifolds glow is when the engine is running lean OR the use of a turbo.

They are right, its either way to lean or your cat is pluged. If your cat is what is causign the excessive heat build up it will be glowing to so take her out and run it hard for a bit and then see if the cat is glowing also. If not then you have a bad fuel Problem.

Best thing to do is remove the cat, take a broom and knock all the stuff out of it. replace it and see if that helps
