look at the cam thread for that, as far as headers...3.4 will work with a torch, bench vice, and trial & error. I thinks that edelcrotch tes will work with the same pursausion (sp?) for heads, get some from 3.4l engines, I believe rwd only will fit, please correct if i am wrong

Couple of suggestions.
Simplest is go get the GM PERFORMANCE PARTS CATALOG ($6), any GM dealer.
Look at the proper pages. Related that to what ya find in the yards and such. The 2.8/3.1/3.4 heads are the same but the new (OTC) 3.4 heads come with the spring retainers and valves all done for a fair price.
I'll give ya the link to my 3.4 swap. This swap quite impressed a driver/owner of a 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 this weekend (we weren't racing, but I gave him a ride!)

Just do a search in our message area; you're bound to find what you need. Catalogs and Websites usually won't advertise parts for our cars- such as exhausts. For instance, we know that a catback for some V8's will work on our V6's. Sometimes you just have to call a place (such as Summit Racing)- they carry so many parts they can't put it all in one catalog.

Fiream, aren't those the 2.8 S10 Blazer headers? I'm pretty sure that the primaries for the 2.8 F-body headers are much shorter...?

Are you -sure-? They look like the Blazer headers. Brian K has a set on his car, right? Where's K?

Fiream,

Will the 2.8 headers fit on to the 3.1?? They might not. When I looked at my stock 3.1 headers they are much shorter.

I don't know they might fit, if you can find a set of these.

Tom,
I got intouch with Heddman and i'm expecting a responce from them soon about the headers. from what i've heard they are a race or super comp type header.

the current headers for the 3.4 will also fit the the 2.8/3.1 engines, I believe these are basicly the same heads.
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000363.html

this thread has the process that 3.1firebird used to make 3.4 headers fit the 3rd gen cars.

good reading

As far as Hedmans go I got a hold of a manager a while back and he stated that if I (we) could come up with 100 requests for headers then they would seriously consider making a run.

I wrote up an article about it but never posted it because there was a lack of interest at the time. The information is at http://www.myfirebird.com/hedman.html if anyone wants to take a look.

I have no idea if the offer still stands ( I doubt it) but if anyone wants me to continue trying or if someone else wants to pick up the ball let me know.

EDIT: The old topic is at https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000843.html all the info is good except for the part about faxing - DO NOT FAX!
