THAT IS SO EXCELLENT!!!!!
What a great thing to happen.
Sorry you have to finish paying for the loan on the old ride, but, $hit happens.

I wish I still had all my media polished stuff for sale. That stuff would look so sweet under the hood (intake & top end, cam cover, waterpump, etc.).
Graeme does you Nova have Disc Brakes? You have the same front subframe as I do on my 1967 & 68 Camaros. IF ya need adisc brake set up, let me know. I hve access to conversions at WAY LOW COSTS & using many wrecking yard pieces (from our local pick your part!). DRUM BRAKES SUCK!
$1500 for your ride is quite fair.
Take your car to the Long Beach (2nd Sunday every Month) & Pomona (after the LA Fair) swap meets & park it with the for sale sign on it & it'll go quick!!
Is it advertisied at CSUN?

Too bad the 95 camaro didn't have the 3800 series(3.8L 90* V6) in it. That would have been a good deal...correct me if I'm wrong about the 95 camaros having the 3.8L as an optional V6.

YES & NO
Yes 1995 had the 3.8.
No, it was NOT available in the beginning of the model year. It replaced the 3.4 during the model year.
It was not an "option". It was offered as the standard engine.
Information from my 1995 model year brochure for Pontiacs.

hey nothingssafe! i have a 95 with the 3.4 also...right now it's off the road and i'm getting ready to put a centerforce clutch and a 100 shot of nitrous on her. The mods i've already done are in my sig, and i can beat some of the old 5.0's no joke. The best thing you can do to that car is the cold air intake. Because the stock box is way too restrictive. The next best thing is a high flow cat. email me if you need any more info....maybe you can help me out some too!

yes the first mod im doing is the exhaust, then the FIPK. do you have an audio clip of your exhaust? i need to hear the different ones. after i do those, its suspension and ignition, 3.42 limited slip on the rear, then maybe the NOS.

I'd do ignition first, Fresh Air second, then enjoy the benefits of a better exhaust all the more! Start with the CC (2 1/2" in & out Don's Hot Rod $60 800-884-0884) investment and see how well the factory exhaust can handle the more flow. You may be surprised!
For ignition all you need is a better coil! Accel on is only $36!
Plug wires and a new plugs run ya about $50-ish, cap & rotor about $20.
Your distributor should be in good shape still, not needing to be removed yet.
Fresh air, look at all the pics and make one yourself. Pick up the air, down low.
Spoke with some Honda guys over the weekend. Saw their purpose built drag race Civic.
He had a plastic tube from the Headlight (passenger side) to the throttle body.
He said he had better run times when the air inlet was off the ground, instead of the headlight. Aerodynamics.
Pick it up from the are where the air inlet is for cooler air to the radiator. Just get more air, no need to "Ram it in".
I straightened the air box lid (NOT CUT IT OFF!) of my 1985 Firebird. Nothing else done. IT gets dirty now. That's all I needed to see. I will be cutting the under hood brace, to get more air into that area (from the space between the hood and the headlight lid), but, nothing more. I drive on the street, not the race track, I can see I'm getting more air in, and that's the plan I was seeking.

well first off..our cars have no distributor. and on any 4th gen v6 site, they tell you to do the air intake first because have you ever looked at a stock air box on a 4th gen 3.4? it has too many twists and turns. Then second they'll tell you to do exhaust because the pipe is too small and it's not mandrel bent.ignition is usually done last because ignition helps the top end performance. and our 3.4s have good top end, they just have trouble getting there..that's why people rarely do ignition box mods to 4th gen 3.4s....trust me i've had my 4th gen for 2 years....not flaming you, just stating the differences...any more questions just ask

uno,
third gens w/3.4 have distributors, wat too much hassle to rewire engine bay.
Also a good site for mainly fourth gen cars is firebirdv6.com

3.1Firebird,

Obviously, I know how much fun a '97 Z is BTW, if you decide to buy a newer car, get the manual...I drove another 30th anniversary car with an automatic, and I couldn't wait to get back in mine and shift some The LT1 feels too good with the 6 speed...

As for women, I guess I'm one of the few here who has a 3rd and 4th gen. Lemme tell you, if it wasn't for the 30th package on my car (white with orange stripes, white wheels, white leather), my RS would get just as many looks!! No matter which car I cruise in, both get attention. The newer style car in general may get more, but my girlfriend said it herself...a shiny, clean 3rd gen will still get you women because they aren't that common.

Hell, I got her before I got the Z...think she has a point?????????

well the 5 speeds run mid to low 16s stock.
and exhaust, if you don't care how much you pay for it, get either the Borla or the B&B tri-flo...they sound awesome!!! but if you're like me, and money is an issue, the american thunder flow master cat back sounds good. I got mine from Jeg's for i think about 250 if i remember correctly and i got a hollowed out cat. Trust me, i've had people ask if it's a Z-28 when it's idleing. and from idle to 3000 it sounds great but you can tell it's a six when you get up over 3k but hey, it still sounds great. Edlebrock also makes a cat-back for it but i don't know what it sounds like and so does pace setter, but it's a single out(i prefer duals)
i think my car is running low 15's right now before i put the centerforce clutch in.my clutch is starting to slip really bad. haha i can hit the gas and the rpms will go up about 1000 then it'll catch. they've got i think 180hp and 160ft/lbs stock of tq if i remember correctly...maybe not that little torque, but you can tell when you hammer the gas
