Webers and Velocity Stacks?
I was wondering if anyone has seen a 2.8 with Weber carbs and/or velocity stacks? They would look really cool on the motor imo and I'm looking to find some.

Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
Falconer built a motor or 2 with ITBs/ITCs, Idk what brand they were. but imo, just find some hayabusa throttle bodies on ebay imo, much cheaper. You will wind up with 2 extra, but still a lot cheaper, and if you find someone else looking to do it you can split a set of them up half and half, or just try selling the 2 extra, might get lucky and find 2 by themselves, but I wouldn't count on it.
Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
Has anyone actually moded the Hayabusa throttle bodies to fit the V6? That looks like an interesting possibility, particularly for the intake manifold I am designing. Instead of two plenums, I could put these on with velocity stacks...humm. Ideally I think you would need sequential firing injectors, so there would be some computer problems beyond my experience- BIG TIME!

Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
Well to run ITBs the manifold is going to have to be custom anyways, I don't see any reason to spend $200+ on a single ITB when I can get 4 hayabusa TBs for the same price or even less. Imo spend the money on the manifold and other parts instead.

I think he meant the manifold and ITBs themselves, which if memory serves purple82ta bought a 1 off that may or may not actually go into production. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it going into production.

Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
My setup uses the stock gen 3 (3500 in my case) lower intake manifold, there are 2 adapters that bolt to the UIM flange and the 6 45mm ITB's bolt to that. the stacks thread into the TB's.
This retains the stock injector port locations and stock gen 3 fuel rail so other than some creative vacuum line routing it's more or less a bolt on deal.
Here is a pic of mine before i bought it... http://www.sdsgarage.com/Misc/Camaro/Intake/F01.JPG
For an iron head engine you'd need something a bit different. Here is a neat setup from my archive of random 60v6 stuff..

I have other pics as well, i'll have to look a bit deeper for them though...

Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
that setup above could be easily duplicated my somone who can weld aluminum.
u could use tbs off a bike motor or even bike carbs that are converted to run dry.
only thing i would change would be fuel injectore placement, the way it is above would be fine at mid to high rpms but i bet low speed and idle sucks

Re: Webers and Velocity Stacks?
Yah, you'd have to be really careful with the spray pattern. 3.4 DOHC injectors have a huge pattern that's really more of a fog then anything. They might work well enough but either way, that's really not the type of setup you'd daily drive.
ITB's on a 60v6 are louder than you could imagine, definitely fun though...
