call up a dealership, ask to see if your yourparticular VIN # has any outstanding recalls. as for RPO, they are option caodes to tell you what your car has. I looked in the center consol for mine, & it 's gone. oh well, looks like pontiac historical services for me.

OR just look at them. If the plastic button isn't red and shiny, it's a recall. That's all it was for, but since it was part of the safety system, it's not allowed to show wear, basically.

It depends on the recall. If it's a safety recall (like the seatbelts), it's good forever, to whoever owns the car. Gm would rather put new seatbelt latches into a car than have a lawsuit!

But, if it's something like a transmission pump, or a computer, etc; you can get the "technical service bulletin" of what's going on, then you have to pay for the new part.

Well when I first got my car over 2 years ago the first thing I did was to look for recalls. I found this one first and went to the Chevy place b/c mine were all pink and stuff. Well Everett Chevrolet refused to put new ones on for free. Well a few months back the button broke on the passengers side. I just found a different style w/ the blue side button that said GM. I think it was off a Cutlass or something.
