looking for new camaro!!!

i know you guys are going to think im crazy but im thinking about getting rid of the v6 and get a v8. Im looking for a 1982-1984 Z28 with an ok body and a 305 HO and a 4 or 5 speed. t-tops or sunroof doesnt matter. im in the Rochester Ny
area and will drive up to 180 miles to pick it up and i will pay up to $1600 for it. if anybody knows of one please e-mail me at v6camaroman@hotmail.com and i will get back to you. thankyou!

Why do you want to get an LG4? I heard these engines are slower than our sixes. And you get way worse gas mileage. Do you just want it to swap in a bigger better engine? Just curious, that's all. Good luck looking!

305HO's from that period arn't LG4's... they're L69's, and they are pretty quick.

Personally I'd look for a carbed 350, but they're going to be hard to find...
I understand you're want for a carb...

Only way to get a carbed 350 is to find one that someone swapped in. And unless the swap was done right, you may be very sorry...

The L69 is awesome though. My buddy is restoring a very rare, 1 of 3230 '83 L69 Z with 173k miles...we don't know when the engine was rebuilt (we can tell its been opened up though), but it appears to be bone stock and is VERY fast...he gets 23 MPG city/hwy too!!

All I have to say is don't "settle" for a car that isn't what you want (unless the price demands it.. 100 bucks can make a very profitable part-out car =P )

I spent over 5 months looking for a parts car.. and when I found the right one, my six became the parts car and I now drive an '88 with T-tops, power windows, cruise, good interior, damn nice paint, gfx, v8, solid tranny, nice wheels, fully tinted.. for a whole 800 bucks. The deals are out there, even if they take time to appear.. you *can* find the car you want. =)
