Roller Rocker Cam

Can i use the same Roller cam from a 5.0 firebird motor, for a 3.4? i konw i can use the 5.0 rockers for a 3.8.. any thoughts?

no, use the cam from the ford straight 6 300", just cut it in half

I'll leave it at that, someone else get the kill

i Ment using the 5.0 GM Roller cam for a 3.4 GM motor... not gm to ford.

ok, if you want a roller cam for the motor, get one for the 6 not 8. gm does sell this, just get the block from the newer 3.4 cars, fab some mounts, get heads from 93-95 3.4 f-body cars & there you go. nuthin to it.

Yeah but i was kinda trying to avoid buying them, b/c i FOUND two FREE roller cams for a 5.0 that's why i'm asking, i'm not trying to be an idiot.

Okay... Lets review... 5.0... V-8

3.4 V-6....

Cam -------- is this long for a V-8
Cam ------ For a V-6....Hence it will not fit.

If you are only wanting to use the lifters.... then that is a different story...

The lifters are the same bore? Wow, never thought of that!

Yeah, there'd be four extra lobes on the V8 cam, 2 for each cylinder (intake & exhaust), making it too long. Plus, a used cam might not be the best idea, anyway... for all the work involved, ya might as well put a new camshaft in.

since you found 2 ffree cams, sell them on e-bay & use the money to buy a cam for your 6.
