Cool, what did you do to it to get that much HP out of it? I know that stock they run 140HP at the fly wheel. I did know it was possible to get that much HP out of the 3.1.

factory for the 76 bonnie, only mod is a metal dryer hose for cai/ram air @ track. With highly retarded (no jokes)ignition, did 17.01 @ 88.5 mph last year. not too bad for a 4600 + pound car. when the firebird is done, I will have them both chassis dynoed & see which will do better at the track.

I think monkies talking about his 97 z28. His 3.1 doesn't have close to that much. (From what he said his times were at the track) Good job with the time though, I ran a 17.8 at the track here in tucson. I think I can do better....

Right now maybe 150ish Hp 190ish Trq for now.

To be swapped in a built stout 4.3 Turbo of the cyclone heritage to be pushing 550-600 on both sides at full 28-29 PSI(Without the juice). That will be a quick V6 RS!. Look out Z's!.

The 4.3 was an available Turbo Motor, in the GMC Cyclones and Typhoons. Remember those S-10 and mini Blazer's that ran 14's? Stock I might add. I am going to build up a 4.3 for the express purpose for the turbo.
Thats how its gonna handle almost 30 PSI.

Simple Auto with 2800 stall 'verter.
But if I do want to keep stick its a 90 Deg motor. All V8 clutches will work. They are out there.

30 psi, will the engine have 8.0-1 or 7.6-1 compression?

Right now I am leaning to 7.5ish range. Cause I do want to have a 75 shot ready as a just in case thing. LOL.
