I'm sorry, but violate, your nothing but a ***** :P

I havn't clocked my 'Bird yet, but my old 2.8L Grand Prix did it in 8.8. I'm guessing the Firebird would be a bit better, since she has more expensive mods (lol), better gearing, a manual, and is a lighter car. I'll post it once the snow melts and I can clock it

I don't know what anyone will put up, but I know bone stock, a 2.8/5 speed is 10.5 and a 2.8/auto is about 11 flat. I don't have #s for a 3.1...

My '97 can do it between 5.5 and 5.8 depending on which article you read

it was kinda easy for me
I started by taking a 1.3L motor that has no pistons, valves, cams, rods, heads, pushrods or anything like that and throw a turbo on there with a few other mods listed in my sig
over all I spent about 1200 to put the motor in my car and all the mods, soon I hope to have bigger injectors and a stand alone ecu (prom I think is what you guys call them) and I should be pushing low 11/high 10 with a little more boost.

right now I am only running about 295 hp and a 12.5 and 0-60 in 4.5

my N/A all it had was header/intake filter and removed A/C belt and I hit a lot of 15.1 avg of 15.4
ported intake manifold and removed p/s put me in the 14.8 range

but I have a small motor so I am sure if I was running something larger then a 1.3L I could do a little better

I did the 4.29 with a stopwatch a long time ago. But since that time, my TurboTransAm went 12.42 @111 with just changing the chip and some free mods. Now with the new turbo, exhaust, cam, 40LBS injectors it should be running in mid 11's around 120 mph.

What do you think the 60-foot times will be then? Under 4-flat?

Pete

I don't think we need to question Pete's competency... there is no way he can run a 12.xx 1/4 with a 4.29 sec 60' time... With a TTA no doubt.

The only time I had a 4.29 60-foot time was when I broke on the starting line at Englishtown. I had a 1.72 shorttime once on real street tires. (boy am I gonna hear from all of you guys now, nobody believes anything I say any more).

I've got a practically bone stock 91 3.1 liter, and in Drive, I can run 60 in roughly 10.5. ONCE though, ONLY ONCE, Using 1>2>Drive, I brought it down to around 9.5. I dunno what the hell happened..major fluke there. And my tranny mount was busted too!

My 0-60 is a shameful 9.2 I don't know much else to say other than it is merely a V6 and hopefully that will change soon!!! Ohhhh the V6 agony.. hey, my V6 still beat a mustang GT.. just shows how much a sh*tstang can really stink...
