Please ignore, a test

I was having printer problems.
Needed this for a test.
It worked, I got the thread response printed I needed for my fuel pump replacment party today!
I've missed this ride!
Next it gets 3 tires & the radiator replaced.
And my front fender painted, inner fender shields installed, the nose stuff fixed and so is the tail cover, to be fixed & rattle can painted.

Anyone else ever thought of turning their ride into an "El Camino" body style?

"El Camino"? no, but I have seen artist reditions of this conversion done to a 'vette. Very interesting. Also there are the conversions of GTOs done for the "Monkey Mobile" & the "Fonz Mobile". I think they may have been the same car. I used to have a model of the fonz mobile.

Still being able to see the Monkee Mobile in person.
No, It's not the Fonz Mobile.
There is a Fonz Mobile?
Fonzie, only ONCE rode the motorcycle on Happy Days. You see that only scene in the opening. After that footage was shot, he proceeded to drive that Motorcycle into a truck. Fonzie couldn't stop the bike. He didn't know how to ride a motorcycle.
Fonzie was never allowed to ride a motorcycle again for Happy Days.
Now, here's the killer.
That bike, Fonzie rode, is THE BIKE Steve McQueen used to jump the fence, in the movie, "The Great Escape".

The fuel pump is in, it is such a treat.
My car started up, right away!
The old fuel pump was a piece of junk. Improperly installed by a mechanic the previous owner once hired. You need to install all new parts for pump to operate correct and for a long fuel pump life.

Now a radiator & some other tires mounted.
YES!
I've missed this ride.
And the Vacuum is a high 16+ inches of vacuum in gear, at idle. I cured all the vacuum leaks from my engine swap job.
It is such a treat to drive this car again!

What it came down to was a few previous clues, for the removal.
Yank on the filler neck thru the frame.
It won't break, but, try every other angle to make it easier.
DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE THE GAS CAP FOR EASIER TANK REMOVAL, TOO!!! (it may seem obvious, but...)
Raise the car, dropping/lowering the axle.
What we did was use a bottle jack to raise car off side rails (1 per side), and work it from below.
Only disconnected those "links" to axle and dropped exhaust. In my case, no need for shock removal.
My friend & I took about 3-4 hours, including lunch break and the notes I had from everyone here.

We concluded:
You REALLY need two people to do this job.
Or pretty much, farm it out & bite it ($$$).
It's a suck a$$ job.
BUT,
THANKS TO DAN!
BIG TIME!!
I couldn't believe how messed up previous mechaincs can truly make a car.

All I'll suggest is that if you REALLY can hear your fuel pump, be prepared to spend some dough, some day. It took me about 2 years, before my noisy one caught up to me.
Signs of my the FINAL bad pump was-
hard starting and smooth idle, upon initial start up, but, it clears up, short time after.
Then, the final sign, less than stellar performance, up a hill.
The pump will tell you, only at start up, if it's good or not.
Pump doesn't "go" while driving (like electrical).
Only at start up, after those previous driving conditions.

It's amazing how the car will not run without the proper fuel pressure.
And how quickly, the car is happy and "normal" after a new fuel pump.
ONLY use AC Delco stuff.
4 items-
strainer
pump motor
that "stabilizer" thing
New filter.
And be sure to install new rubber hose, back, at external fuel lines.
I always like using Fuel Injection hose.
I know what you said, Tom, the regular stuff works.
But, if ya go thru the effort....
Fuel Injection hose has a real high burst rate strength.
You can tell, just by squeezing the hose, which one is better.
I can't wait to wash this car, before it rains.
Let the rain water "rinse" off car.
Four outta Five cars running, now.
And one Motorcycle.
That's a first for me!
