Yet another mileage survey...everyone post!!

So how long has your beloved 60 degree been around for?? I figured we have enough new members, this could be again an amusing post. BTW, make sure you say how long the original engine/tranny went for if they have been replaced.

Me?? 94,568 on both original engine and tranny. Engine runs great, the tranny??? Well, its the original for now...we'll see how long that lasts

Everyone post!

Welp, I've got approx. 153,300 miles on the original engine/tranny.

I just took her to Vegas which is 260 miles each way. I'll admit, i was scared about breaking down(in the middle of Death Valley!!!), but she didn't skip a beat. 27.6 miles per gallon on that trip. Still running strong(knock on wood).

My engine has 167,232 miles on it and the original tranny died on me at 124,995 miles. I'm hoping to make it to 200k sometime next year if she lives that long.
I got 27 miles a gallon once. The other week I got 367 miles out of a tank of gas. I don't know the exact mileage of that tank b/c she died as soon as I pulled into the driveway and I had to put some fuel from the mower tank in to make it to the gas station

My Bird has 120K.

I got 115K on the original 700R4 then switched it out for a T5 for the fun of it.

It still looks good and gets 30mpg regularly.

138,000 on original engine and tranny. Still running strong (never mind the small bearing knock!) She has a long way to catch up to my old S10 that had 224,000 on the original 2.8L engine and tranny!

i got the car with 176,000 miles, they guy said the engine had been changed once he was the second owner. at 200,150 miles the original t5 trans went by bye, it started just getting stuck in gear, then one day it got stuck in 5th and would not come out, boy what ride home, runnin lights and stop signs, trying not to stall. getting a car going n 5th gear is not easy.

1st time out with the new trans and clutch i got scratch in 4 gears, my friend freaked, he said did it just( in amazement) did it just scratch in 4th gear??? yes it did and with two people in it.

9,000 miles on engine, 3k on tranny...damn, wish those were original. Had to replace the motor after a full 231,000miles, the tranny went at 242k or so! not to shabby on a v6, oh and those last 20k on the motor were pretty much all racing lol, learned my lesson there, plus u should change your oil, i coulda got 300k outta that motor. damn.

105k and change. With the good gas quality and octane I get around 30-32 consistenly with mixed driving. I would say 25 plus city. I also check the timing, spark plugs, codes and pressure in the tires every week. I get about 325-350 per tank(still above e a little), 12.5 gallons maybe 13 at fill up. And I drive the car HARD. Just installed an A/F ratio guage and found my O2 sensor is wacked... Watching the guage fly side to side... So after replacement I will repost the improvments. I know its been at least 2 years since last replacement.

Good for the car, sucks for me. Hard tring to find long desserted highway roads where I can floor it.

Just rolled 160k a couple weeks ago.. original engine/tranny, altho the tranny technically went south almost 10k ago (still no second gear).. 15.5-16 mpg city with no second.. still trying to find time to rip apart the tranny and replace that leaking seal that's robbing my 2nd gear line pressure to the servo =P

89 bird . 85,000 miles . Average 25mpg. Engine and Auto tranny still great, great oil pressure, oil stays clean and no leaks.
I was going to put a 350 chevy engine in it when the V6 went bad ,but with the numbers I've seen that will be a long time.
Great car, Great engine. I wonder If any mustangers and ricers have read these posts. If they have they are probably looking for f-bodied cars right now.

well I put in a Air Fuel ratio guage and it was sweeping back from extreme to extreme... replaced o2 sensor.. guess what it was the original! 9 years old and still not that bad. No codes, not bad milage 30 plus most the time!. Anyway I replaced it and it does not sweep as far(stays within 10 leds now) now but still the thing was over 9 years old! with over 105k on it!.

i bought my bird with 209,930 i just put 210,000 miles on it now. any owners recomend any thing to prolong my engine and tranny, i was going to change the tranny fluid, filter, gasket but heard rumors that this wll be a bad move cause of the high milage. and the engine has been over hauled thats about it...

Gotta 157,000 original engine and T5 except for turning a bearing a few months ago due to a broken off fan switch sensor that I never knew until I pulled the engine! Usually get around 20 MPG.
