I felt a large difference with the 1.6's! All mid-upper rpm power. It takes a while to install but worth it. Id personally spend more and get the full roller.

Where do you find the full roller? And I swear there was a discussion on here about how the rockers wouldnt work because of the valve cover clearance or something.

Monkie, When I once installed POLY LOCKS on stock rocker arms, I could not make the "stock valve cover" fit. Poly locks hit teh cover, before it seated.
I do not know how Rollers are retained, but, I'd suggest asking the manufacture what they think.
It's alot of work to adjust these valves correctly.
Update.
Monkie, looking at the pic for the Indy 3.4 engine.
They used-
Crane pn - 25752-12
Poly locks
Studs.
But on this East West engine, they used some interesting valve covers.
I do not know what the windshield side of the east west engine looks like. The valve cover, on the side, you open the hood at, looks normal height.
Maybe the cantered valves have something to do, with reducing height?

Monkie, when i did the 1.6 on the firebird, there was only a slight tap once in a while with high RPMS. No other problems i noticed.... or perhaps they were always stuck on the valve covers? dont think so.. you should be ok. Edelbrock has the tall valve covers.

Do the 1.6 rockers improve much with the stock cam or is this mod only useful with a better cam?

Do not add 1.6's on a high mileage car.. It sucks... You need good valve springs...Make sure you get hte right valve springs otherwise like me you will loose power...
