V8 &V6FuelPump. What's the Difference?

I am in need of a fuel pump..But the man i have putting it in doesnt like anything but AC Delco..
SO Since the fuel pump for the V8 F.I is 80 bux .And the one for the V6 is 129. I want to know what it matters?

Why couldn't i put it in my V6 and not have any problems.?

Yeah they're both good deals but really what would the real end all effect of this application turn out to be if i did it this way?

Are you looking at the one for the tpi or tbi?

The difference is in pressure

As long as its for MPFI the v8 will be fine, it will just flow more than needed, but hey if its cheaper, why not-won't hurt anything by flowing more than needed.

Re: V8 &V6FuelPump. What's the Difference?

the v6 and v8 mpfi/tpi pumps are actually the same pump,
i would say i can give u a link to corvette zr-1 pumps for 20bucks shipped but u would need a retune to run one, they flow more volume and the stock return line wont be able to keep up thus raising ur base fuel presure. a single zr-1 pump on my twin turbo iroc is enough to push my base fuel presure to 50psi at idle with the regulator unhooked.

.

those pumps are different part numbers, I'm pretty sure the TPI runs at a much higher PSI

Well, Its a 3.1 V6 port injection. A v8 would fix that..: ) .But,this is the answer i am looking for.
Straight and simple.
It wont affect the performance of the car. There'll just be more pressure pushing the fuel around. EXCELLENT!

Thanks I get it about the PSI ..Yeah that counts of course but it doesnt seem to make that much of a difference from what im reading..It'll just push the fuel around at a higher PSI. Wont use more fuel or make the car run all twisted. So i think i'm gonna give it a chance..
The AC Delco pump cost too much to be farting around with nonsense that isnt going to make any issues.
One or two more Pounds of compression p.s.i...I wouldnt think it would throw the ECM off either as this ECM is the same one used for the v8 as well. from what i understand. Thanks for the reply.

Re: V8 &V6FuelPump. What's the Difference?

the aftermarket V6 and V8 pumps are identical. The price difference is due to simple marketing.

the FPR controls fuel pressure, the pump is responsible for fuel volume.
