MPFI Kits
Does anyone make MPFI kits for the 2.8 V6? If anyone recalls i made a thread about getting a TBI setup. Well, i did, and i was kinda dissapointed with the entire situation (dont ask) so im looking for other options. If buying a used stock kit that was on another car is a good way to go lmk. Please dont dismiss new kits that may be available simply because its the more expensive route. Im all about saving money (it would seem a lot of you guys are that way) but i like to get all my options rather than the cheapest route. All i can find are small block chevy kits. Thanks

The 2.8l is a dog, I wouldn't put much money into it !!
I believe the fiero intake would work as well.

Re: MPFI Kits
Im not going to dump a ton of money into it and try and get a ton of horsepower. This is my tinker/summer driver car and the most i plan on doing to it is maybe a turbo at some point. Id just like to make some small improvments to the car as i go really. Ive read more than enough to know that i cant expect to push the little thing to much and i really dont want to replace the engine.

Best thing you can do if you want to go with fuel injection is to get a donor car and swap over the intake AND the electronics (car don't go without the electronics to make the parts work).

Well, if you want fuel injection, you only have a very few options:
1. TBI off of an S10, possibly with an Edelbrock intake manifold.
2. MFI intake off of an 85-92 F-body as seen in the link above. I'd get the cylinder heads as well if you have a pre-85 NON-HO engine for the bigger valves.
3. 3100 small or large port heads (also 3400 heads) and intake from a 93-04? FWD car. Requires lots of new parts and money.
Either way, if you have a carbureted car, you will need a replacement wiring harness to drive the injectors.

Re: MPFI Kits
So finding a donor seems to be the best bet. I didnt like the TBI setup as much as i thought i would. Im not looking to do a hybrid build, itll take away from what i want the car to be (not insanly modded). Not that anyone probably cares but its an 82. My dad bought it for my as a gift when i graduated highschool.

nice ride.Keep in mind that if your changing wireing stuff stay away from 89 to 92 stuff. They got the vatts secerity stuff that would be trouble for you in an 82.

VATS not hard to get around. Personally I would use the newer speed density ECM.

Re: MPFI Kits
There aren't any kits that I've seen that are specific to the 660, that I have seen.
Your best bet is to use an intake manifold from a donor car at least, and add the electronics and related parts. The only parts that really need to be 660 specific would be the parts that physically bolt to the engine, like intake manifold and related parts, the rest can be adapted or pirated from other cars.
I like the Delco 1227730 ECM, used in many 660 applications, including FWD from 1987 to 1994. It's a pretty common ECM, and well supported for tuning, if you want to get into that side of it. The tuning aspect would be especially helpful when adding a turbo. There would be BIN files that will run your car, without the need to tune or set up any files. (Depending on how you want to disable VATS, if you use a BIN that has it enabled, you may want to program an EPROM with VATS dsabled, or use an external circuit to bypass it.
Another option for electronics is using one of the many aftermarket options. The least expensive is MegaSquirt. I'm intrigued by the MS3, but still lacks a few things that I feel are important, that the OEM Delco ECM has. The MS also requires you to set up the file and tune to run the engine, so it's more work to get going.
The Delco ECM or MegaSquirt would likely be the two choices to look at, for price and features.

Re: MPFI Kits
Ended up getting a complete working, used MPFI setup for $100. I think i made out pretty good considering what Hawks and other well known places wanted to charge. lol
