ECM Compatibility

I have a 3.4 gm crate engine in my first gen. S blazer and would like to install a compatible / tuneable ecm. I have the f body exhaust manifolds[each has an O2 sensor]but still have the S intake manifold with larger 4.3 tbi, still have the distributor not dis. Will the ecm out of a 93-95 f body work with this combo ? I relize this isn't an S truck forum but you guys have given me good info before.Thanks.

Re: ECM Compatibility

The f body ecm will run it fine as long as you uses the 3.4 efi from the f body.
Do you want to use the tbi on the 3.4? If so then find a 2.8l tbi distributor.

Thanks,I'm already using the 2.8 distributor, just trying to keep the 4.3 tbi which was an upgrade over stock and a easy install.I do have a 3.4 intake and dis coils but didn't want to install them unless I had too.

Re: ECM Compatibility

There are a number of ECMs that will work.

One of the most popular lately for TBI application (in any vehicle) is the 16197427, found in the '93 to '95 full size GM trucks. 8192 baud datalogging rate, lots of variables that can be tuned for just about any situation, can run an electronic transmission, and with some modifications can be used in an MPFI application as well.

Look in the DIY_PROM forum for more info, as well as www.gearhead-efi.com.

Since this is a non F-Body discussion, I am required to lock it..
