V6 Troubles
Couple of problems I am having, my car randomly takes longer to start at times. I always prime the fuel pump by leaving it in acc. until I hear it stop then crank it over. Sometimes when it's cold it starts right away, other times it doesn't and requires a second crank.
Another problem I am having is my transmission (automatic) is leaking transmission fluid. The seal behind the speedometer cable is leaking I believe, where can I find a replacement seal?

Re: V6 Troubles
First, hook up a fuel pressure gauge, the running pressure should be 36-42 psi & it should hold pressure after the engine is shut off. If it doesn't then you have a bleed down problem, most likely the regulator or check valve in the pump.
Try rock auto for the seal, a tranny shop might have one too.

Re: V6 Troubles
For me the first symptom turned out to be a leaky fuel pressure regulator diaphragm.

Re: V6 Troubles
You just hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the nipple on the fuel rail then put everything back together?
My freaking rear cam cover is leaking...ugh...so much work for so little miles.

You don't need to dismantle anything to hook up the pressure gauge. Pull the vac line off the FPR and smell for gas. And when were the injectors last checked?

Re: V6 Troubles
about the oil, check the distributor gasket, as i was told, i looked more into it and that was where my problem was with most oil, not 100% sure until i actually get my baby running again (changing head gaskets and p&p)

Re: V6 Troubles
I think I fixed the transmission speedometer leak for now or forever who knows. I just took it off and flipped the o-ring around lol.
I don't know the condition of the injectors, car has only 80K on it with annual maintenance.
The fuel nipple is under the plenum so it would have to come off wouldnt it? To check fuel pressure at least..Raining right now so can't do anything.
The distributor is new and so is that o-ring would it really still leak...I took off the transmission inspection plate, rear main seal was dry, right above that the little cover plate seemed to have oil on it.

Not sure on the 2.8 if the fuel valve is accessible without removing the plenum. I'd be surprised if you do. However, you should at least check the resistance of the injectors which does require removing the plenum. Should be 12-13 ohms or so and all very close in value.

Yes, the fuel nipple is under the plenum. So I believe I have to remove it, remove the fuel cap install my gauge and run it out the back then hook my plenum back up to run the car with the guage hooked up.
Anyone know what color the bosch injectors are compared to the multec injectors? I want to know what kind of injectors are in this puppy.

Injectors are all 16.7 and 16.8 ohms, good?
How can I tell which brand I have? All that is on them is numbers.
