pulling the smog/air pump ?

Hey gang, I am in the middle of swapping the old blown smog/air pump off the 91' V6 , 3.1 L and I managed to get the top and bottom bolts pulled, the plug is disconnected, but the damn thing will not come out,I can see a hose holding it tight, do I need to jack the car up to get at the hose to fully remove the smog/air pump and do I need some needle nose pliers to disconnec the hose??

Thanks in advance

IMO..not really. Its mainly to make the engine bay cleaner. Might net 1 MPG and 1 Hp.

Yes bud you need to get those clamps off with some pliers. The belt with no ac/ no AIR is a 81.5 i think. Its early in the morn so i may be off. But im not sure if you have air. Just tell the parts store you have a V6 camaro with no air, or no air and no A/C and they will give you the right belt.

See my engine bay its still a little messy but the AIR system, IF you dont have emmisions, can be a easy way to somewhat clean up the area.

Re: pulling the smog/air pump ?

We are looking just to replace it, but thanks for the tip though!

I might be looking later to shorten up the Air filter tubing and just place it in front of the carburator later on down the road!
