No check engine Light

I have searched for a quite a bit on here and google and I havent found anything to help me fix the check engine light. I want to set the timing with a timing light and I know you have to put it into bypass mode where the check engine light flashes randomly and the rpm goes to base timing but I cant seem to get the check engine light to come on. We checked the bulb already and it still wont come on. Any suggestions would be nice.

Re: No check engine Light

Well, first, put a wire in the diagnostic connector as though you're pulling codes and make sure the ECM CAN turn the light on in the first place.

Re: No check engine Light

Cel should come on when you turn on the key for a few seconds.
Get a wiring diagram & do a continuity check between the cel socket & the other end (ecm & ground) of the circuit.
