Oil pressure high

My oil pressure has been really high since I gave it an oil change two weeks ago, the gauge reads above 80 and it also idles rough until it goes down a little. It idled rough before due to a vacuum leak (which I have yet to find) any reason why? Is this bad?

Re: Oil pressure high

unless u put something like 90-120 wieght oil in it tthe oil presure isnt really that high

prolly a bad sending unit or gauge

the only other way i could se eit actually being that high is if the oil filter is pluged up or an oil passage in the block is plugged up but that is highly unlikley

Re: Oil pressure high

Okay, I have a few bad sensors, like EGR and MAP sensor, where is the oil pressure sensor located?

try disconnecting the battery then the sensor. reconnect sensor then battery. I had the same thing happen a while back. disconnecting the sensor seemed to fix the problem.

Re: Oil pressure high

The oil gauge in my RS 3.1 always reads high like that, but even when the car is off it does not rest all the way down so I know my gauge is mesed up. I'm with the other guys, I think the sensor/sender is bad.
