2.8L V6 ISSUE

So, I have a 1996 Firebird, with a current issue, that I can not trace. I have done the paperclip trick, and its not sending off a code worth worrying on, besides 12. I can be driving down the road, and as I'm driving, the engine will start to sputter, the radio will cut in and out, the sub will still play but yeah its rather off tone at this point, and then it'll all come back, and act normal. The engine light will flash on and off. I have replaced the Ignition Control Module, I have had the alternator checked at 2 different shops, along with the battery and all cabling. It is all good. What else can it be?

Can you be more specific?

How do you know its "good?"

I think you have a poor connection in your ignition, or what may also called a "bad ground."

Check all connections to the coil and the distributor.

Make sure your batter connections are all clean and tight.

Re: 2.8L V6 ISSUE

is the steering all lose n sloppy? GM never use locktite on the tilt bolts, they come lose with time, its slop can F with the ign switch,[not one the key goes in, that one just pushes a rod for the real switch under dash] when mine was sloppy, backing up to the left would turn the car off on me.

Re: 2.8L V6 ISSUE

I have yet to have it happen when I'm actually turning, normally happens when I'm going down the road, I mean i can have the car not acting up to having it lose power, bog down, chugging, and the radio literally quit playing to then it being totally okay. I have had the lights flickering as well during this, going from normal to dim like flashing but rapidly.

Re: 2.8L V6 ISSUE

Sounds like a bad wire somewhere.
Possibly a bad ground.

So, replaced the iginition coil, checked out the sound system (removed it included) still had issues, i get up to 40mph or just past there then start having a ton of issues. The pump, and the injectors were put in, back in 2011. Help please?

Re: 2.8L V6 ISSUE

I thank ya'll for the help. I thought bad ground as well, but ran out of ideas after that 0_0. Started tracking it down, and came across what a voltage regulator will cause.
