timing chain
timing chain
ok so I just replaced my timing chain and now my car won't start. it turns over and sounds like its bogging out. I have done a lot to this car. I have replaced the distributor, cap and rotor, plugs and wires, iac, tps, map, fuel pump and filter, and rebuilt the throttlebody. I just need to figure out if I managed to set the timing way off or what. I appreciate any help I can get.

Re: timing chain
I'd check and make sure I installed the timing chain correctly. There should be a notch on the crankshaft, valve sprockets, and on the timing chain that help you align them up. I'm not a full time mechanic but I would look for that.

Re: timing chain
What he said above. Hopefully that is installed right and the cam and crank are set right.
Did you set up the dizzy correctly? You could have the timing 180 degrees outta wack. Ive done that before. You have to make sure the #1 cylinder is on its compression stroke TDC. And point that rotor on the dizzy at that cylinder. About 7 o clock ish.
